Sheila E rehearsing with Dave Navarro Dave Navarro (husband of Carmen Electra and guitar player for Jane's Addiction) mentioned on his blog today that he was recently rehearsing with Sheila E.
Rehearsal yesterday was crazy! It was Jay-Z, Sheila E., Kid Rock (who is quite a guitar player I found out), myself and some really incredible guys on drums, bass and keyboards. We are actually playing this stuff live as a band without a loop or track. Usually the Hip Hop live stuff has at least a recording of different elements playing along with the live stuff. I know some frown upon my doing stuff like this, but I just thank God for the experience and opportunity.

Sounds like they may be rehearsing for Jay-Z's stint on the BET award show. According to Sheila E's website, she is going to be playing with him too. The show is tomorrow night. "Life is a Bowl of Cherries, but this is just the pits" | |

Dave Navarro is very cool. I can't believe I'm saying this but Prince is probably too big of a prude to play with him now- beings that P is all JW and Dave has tats and piercings, plays topless most of the time, etc. Besides P has never been all that big on colaborating w/ someone who he didn't discover and manage. Beyonce ONCE for a TV thing, LENNY a bit, Miles.... Prince just doesn't do that.
But it would be cool if it did happen! And Dave w/ Sheila would be KILLER. | |
