Morris hosting "Grown Folk's Music on BET tonight at 11:30 ET I just saw a commercial with Morris saying he is hosting the show tonight. He said he will be showing his favorite videos.
They showed a few seconds of an old Time video, and it didn't look like Jungle Love or The Bird because Morris' hair was high as hell and he had on the same jacket he wore on the cover of "What Time Is It?" Maybe they'll show Ice Cream Castles and Cool. I haven't seen those in forever. I'm sure he'll show some old Prince stuff and maybe even Sex Shooter since he's probably in it. The show is tonight at 11:30 ET on BET. Peace. | |

I just finished watching it.  Morris' hair looked curlier and more natural, not permed out (and no pancake make-up). They actually played "Nasty Girl" by Vanity 6! I haven't seen that video since I was a kid. I'd forgotten just how sleazy and cheesy that video was. LOL. And "Jungle Love" by the Time and then "Let's Go Crazy"!!! Goodness, I gonna have a heart attack!! It's like a Paisley Park classes of '82-84 reunion!!!
"Grown Folks Music" had been getting stale lately, re-airing the same old videos every week (If I took a shot of whiskey for everytime they aired that Anita Baker video with her singing in a room fabrics blowing in the wind, I'd be in AA by now). It's nice that BET's really digging into their archives. Now if they would just play The Time's "Cool" video and extend the show to an hour, I'd be a happy camper.
