WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO TYLER COLLINS Hey, does anyone remember the really nice looking young lady named Tyler Collins? She was a Prince protegee'. I have her CD at home and was wondering why she only made that one CD. There were a couple of songs called: Just make me the one; Pain, and some others. I thought she had more of a future than just a one hit wonder. Put the spoon down honey, come on let mama feed you!

I don't remember the name at all.
from allmusic.com: Diva Tyler Collins was born in Harlem and raised in Detroit, beginning dance lessons at age seven and making her stage debut a year later. Upon relocating to Los Angeles she continued to concentrate on the theater, appearing in a series of musicals and dramas and in time joining the children's performance group the Willow Opera Workshop. In 1987 Collins joined the teen R&B group the Boys Next Door, soon signing to Jermaine Jackson's short-lived Work Records label; she left the group two years later to mount a solo career, debuting with the album Girls Nite Out and scoring a pair of major hits with the title track and "Whatcha Gonna Do." In addition to writing songs for performers including Celine Dion, Jeffrey Osborne and Shanice, in 1991 Collins returned to acting, appearing in the film A Rage in Harlem; a year later she continued her music career with Tyler. In 1994, she also scored a hit single with "Thanks to You," the theme from the film Andre. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

I remember Tyler did some work with Full Force, but I never knew about any Prince connection.

The back of the CD and the inside booklet has Prince arranging, producing, and singing backup on one single. Put the spoon down honey, come on let mama feed you!

Prince also signed her to Paisley Park Records in the early-mid 90's but nothing ever materialized.

That's what I thought, or remember hearing or something but it's nice to know that I'm not getting that old where I'm forgetting things (except the damn car keys). Put the spoon down honey, come on let mama feed you!

I didn't find it. I have to check it when going home. BTW, I like "Slide" and "Freedom" out of this album

She definitly doesn't like Rosie, Mani, Mayte, Fink & Jill, so don't expect her 2 ever show again after what happened with them this afternoon. I think she eventually decided 2 spend the nite at her mother's home so she won't get drunk 2 4get about it all. [This message was edited Sat Jun 12 17:37:30 2004 by shaomi]

That makes sense. It was later on that Prince began to sign already established acts like Dale Bozzio and Three O'Clock.
