What the hell is this!!!!! Ya'll would never let Prince get away with this. (E-40 where did they dig up this guy, why not Young MC or Father MC) Before I get beat down I'm a huge fan, but the same ol routine, same tired-ass songs, 4 new songs that sound like crap. Give me a break..... mad

Actually, there were lots of folks who let Prince get away with it. He was called 'Tony M.' and the albums were 'Diamonds and Pearls' and 'prince'.

All Music Guide has Jamie Starr listed as a producer, and they complain about swears being edited out. Seems to me Prince may have a more direct hand in this than you realize.

ick. looks like some time songs mixed in with morris' craptastic songs from his albums that no one bought.

i never really liked morris. i think towards the end his head got too big. i wish they would have replaced him and kept making music. morris day and the time my ass! they were not his back up band.

Say it ain't so...now Prince is censoring classic Time songs. Where will it end?

I got It's About Time on Tuesday and noticed something interesting. The writer and producer credits are all attributed to Morris except for Girl where it's credited as Morris Day and Jamie Starr. The only other co-writers/producers are Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis with Morris on Fishnet.

I thought at the very least Jamie Starr would be credited for more co-writing, am I wrong in this? According to ASCAP, he co-wrote much more than just Girl. Prince is listed in the thank you's-so obviously not a grudge, just seemed a little strange. hmm

There IS editing when it comes to swearing-one that even starts the album! The intro-Morris says: "Y'all got about 10 seconds to get up off of yo asses!" is edited where the vocals drop out on "ass" so it comes out "...of yo (drop out)ses!" The music keeps going through the part, but you can definitely notice it more on headphones. Not sure what the big deal is-worse is said on network tv. The sound quality is much better than the VH1 streams-worth checking out, but I wouldn't pay more than $11.99 (got my copy for $10.98 at Target).

Definitely listen to it first if you're skeptical-keeping in mind the cd quality is better-it's basically a live Morris Day and the Time album (with editing for the kiddies) and 4 new Morris tracks that if you're expecting classic Time worthy material, you'll be dissapointed. It's more for people that either gotta have everything Morris/The Time does, or just want live material. I agree though, they left out some damn good stuff. Definitely makes me stick with what I'm thinking-an easy way for Morris to take advantage of the Purple Rain anniversary with it being in people's minds.

I saw this CD in the stores today and I didn't even buy it.Such a waste. In 2004,the Time shoiuld be celebrating their legacy with a kickass NEW CD featuring all new tracks,or a long-overdue Greatest Hits CD,or at the very least, remasters of their first three albums. ANYTHING but a weak, confusingly labeled "Live" album that's not likely to go anywhere.I'm really disappointed in these guys.

Who what the circumstances are with this release. It could b just a contractual release that lacked effort on everybody's part.
