Eric Leeds

Does anyone know what Mr Leeds is up to these days?
Also I am curious what his latest album sounds like. Anybody heard it?
I still dig Times Squared alot. Play it alot lately.

Hey, Gooey. What's up, man!

I didn't care too much for that last CD. It didn't have any of the spark of the first 2 CDs or of his work during Prince's prime (go on & flame me, y'all -- I ain't afraid...) in the 80s & 90s.

None of the spontaneity that marked his work then. I was listening to "Love or $" yesterday and was shocked at how you just never knew how Eric was going to flow in a solo. Just never knew. The same goes for his "Mountains" solo or "Times Squared." Great album. Keep spinning that one. His last one was stinky ... in the bad way.

I remember the Sig O the Times tour. Just listening at Eric go at it was great. I loved that live bridge between When Doves Cry and Purple Rain, that was a horn arrangement that was SO kewl. I had the feeling I knew it though, but couldn't come up with where I knew it from.
I should have known though, cuz there was that dog-pound-drum that went with it.
When Prince takes the 12" version of LaLaLaHeHeHee beyond the 7" version there is this mad horn arrangement. LLLHHH is one of the fonkiest released Prince songs. Barking mad.

Thanks, my dog, Mocha, would appreciate it.

He's a brat, but a cute one.

LalalaHehehe was the jam.

Eric was the coolest at adding that extra something to arrangements, be they funk, jazz or a mixture of both. And, let's not even talk about his touch on the Madhouse ballads...

Go on and pad your own thread. It's cool.

Ms

Gooeymaster, his third CD was:

Eric Leeds "Now & Again"
2000 Zinc Records, Inc.

The cuts are:

1. Now and Again
2. Dijibouti
3.Rio Diamante
4. No Reason At All
5. Medley: Nowhere To Be Found/Rainbow
6. To Whom It May Concern
7. Queen's Plaza
8. Mack Daddy

I found mine at a used wrecka stowe for 8 bucks.

Tho its not as great as his first two I still dig it because its Eric and I dig his sound, have so since the MAdhouse Days.

peace!
