Plus the fact, I'm sorry, but it just isn't the same without "Jamie Starr" producing it. hmph!

Jamie Starr was never a producer on Morris solo stuff so what makes this any different? Without Jesse, Jimmy and Terry it's not really the Time any way so I'm glad he is releasing this under his own name. I'm hoping Chuckii Booker produced this whole album. Can't wait until June 22

True, but like the point was made earlier, "It's About Time" was supposed to be a reunion album. If it is, then Jamie Starr should be producing it. If not, I could give a flying fuck who produces it. confused

oh, they can call it granny if they want to, i just don't understand if it's a morris solo album, a time album, a best-of album of both or either or what. the whole thing seems a bit convoluted to me. oh, well. i'll still probably buy it so whatever. lol

He might adopt another name, we wouldn't know wink

Chucki Booker, I heard this name b4? He's the one behind Angela Winbush's hit "Treat U Rite", right? lol

What band or singer has to stayed tied to the hip of their original producer? Just think you are under-playing Morris' own talents.

I'm not under-playing his talents...I was just expressing what I would like. Not that I said "I" in my previous posts in this thread. lol

As long as it is better than his last solo album (which should not be hard to do) it will still be refreshing to hear him do something other than the 20 year old Time classics. As for a real Time album - be it the new lineup or the original one - if Prince isnt associated with it, it wont be authentic Time material. Prince IS the Time as we know and love it. Without Prince, there is not 777-9311, Cool, Get It Up, Jungle Love, The Bird, Tricky, Jerk Out, THe Walk, or any of that other immortal Time stuff.

Its being billed as a Morris day album. The live material is the Time. A HOB show from a few years ago. The new stuff probably has some, but not all the members on it. The video and single are supposed to be released this month.

I don't know if the billing is a legal thing or morris's ego, but the other fellas are definetly on there

Yo peeps, Prince owns the Time moniker. If there's no Prince involvement, how's he gonna let them use his band name?

That would be him. He was also the musical director for Janet Jackson. he is a multi-instrumentalist as well who's quite funky in his own right. you wouldn'y know by his hits but he does have a "purple" touch on him. His CD's are filled with some amazing funk. especially his James Brown tribute "Soul Triilogy" i heard one of the tracks he did with Morris. It was an unfinished demo but definitely had that authentic Time sound. I'm sure Prince purist would have something negative to say but you know how that goes. Brante (prince.org member) supposedly had the scoop on Chuckii saying that Morris & Chuckii were just messing around with ideas a while back and were supposed to be part of a TIME CD. Well, this is not a Time CD so i do not know what to expect. Bran, if youre out there.. please get the scoop.

Same here.I was hoping for a kickass new Time album, with at least some tracks produced by Prince. But this looks like a lame Morris Day solo project, with only a few Time songs thrown in.

In the past they've said he never had a problem with them using the name.

To the best of my memory, this is the tracklist. The only errors I expect to have made are the order.

1. Wild and Loose
2. 777-9311
3. Cool
4. Girl
5. Ice Cream Castles
6. Fishnet
7. Jungle Love
8. The Bird
9. In My Ride
10. Two Drink Minimum
11. Ain't a Damn Thing Changed
12. .... (something about "Later" or "Night" or "Tonight")

As a live band, yes. But this is a consumer product that they're selling, and it's not Prince's product.

So is that why he was on Ellen performing Jungle Love? I thought this was supposed to be "new" not "rehashed".
