"It's about Time"

There were quite a few threads concerning the new album by the Time. Just to clear things up, according to MTV, the new album contains old live recordings of classic hits from the Time and Morris Day's solo career, plus four new songs written by Day and original members Jerome Benton, Jellybean Johnson and Monte Moir.

Out June 22nd

When they showed the CD cover on the Ellen show, it appears to be credited to just Morris Day.
Having old live recordings of Time songs seem so pointless it makes you wonder why they're even bothering.

yeah i was thinking of this also. I thought it was the time who had a new album not just Morris Day by himself. Seems so pointless to me. Morris was never big as a solo artist, and those 4 songs without prince's help sounds like "skip to the next track" to me.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

and why when they are performing on these shows its just "Morris Day" and not "morris day and the time" or just "the time"? anybody else wondered this? Its not just morris up there, there is jerome and then other guys playing the instruments, morris has never been a one man band like P.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

CO-SIGN

Morris needs to go back to selling shoes. The Time in it's original form is untouchable and will always be one of my favorite bands, but this version of the Time is ruining what it once was. And the tiny little bit of respect I still had for Morris was destroyed when he wouldn't play Sheila E's Family Jamm show without being paid.

Why don't they just scrap this project, and deliver a new Time album with all new songs?? Is it really so hard for them to come up with 13 new tracks? And,do we really need a "live" Time album anyway? I'd rather have a kickass new CD with all new songs, with Prince as producer on some songs. This project looks like a cheap way to celebrate their legacy and I certainly won't be buying it.
