Do you think that Mayte regrets leaving Prince? I saw a show where Mayte was hooked up with Tommy Lee. It now appears that it is over. From Prince to Tommy Lee ( I don't get that at all ) She is such a beautiful woman. And her dancing was amazing. Why would she leave Prince? It breaks my heart. Your thoughts. Peace.

I think they probably just drifted apart after the baby died. I mean, after that, and after you've taken her out of your videos and live show, what else would a 40 year old man and a 25 year old woman have in common? "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

by the way, i wish people would title their threads a little more appropriately. when i saw this one, i thought it was actually going to be confirmation of Mayte regretting leaving Prince, via an interview, and article, a personal conversation etc.

Perhaps Mayte will become the Patsy Kensit of America, moving from one pop star to another trying to keep in the public eye.
Well, someone's got to do it.

1st things 1st, prince left mayte not the other way around. Now i'm not defending mayte or on anyones side but i have to say that i find it just a little disturbing that so many people on this web site won't wrap their minds around the fact that prince was canoodling with Mani while still married to mayte. He went outside his marriage to try and fix what clearly needed to be fixed within himself, he can't deal with pain.Though it was horrible what happened to them, it happened to both, something he clearly didn't apply to him. I
I seem to remember that around that time he was still posing as the loving and understanding husband,( who if i also remember was pictured reading a bible in a caftan), was @ that time 2 1/2 yrs into the relationship with Mani. It's even amazing to me that he can keep it straight! I don't think he can so hince no recorders in interviews and no asking about his wife or having very limited access to her.HE KNOWS HOW HE, THAT'S RIGHT, HE GOT HER! Before the attacks start about how i'm jealous and such which by the way always seems to be what comes out of the mouths of so many on this site, let me assure you that that is far from the case. I wouldn't want to be in her or anyother womans shoes when it comes to Prince because true be told those shoes will change again. Prince uses life as his own amusement park, why go to one when you can create one for yourself. You control how the ride is built, who gets in and who loses their privleges to enter, you make up the rules of conduct and then have them apply to everyone else. Sometimes you can be too smart for your on good and it comes off as entitlement. I am not a Prince hater, I have been profoundly moved by this man's music ever since i was 7yrs old and i am 35 now. I have had the honor of following a man's growth, death, rebirth and a relative calming over the yrs.Prof. Prince has taught me many things over the yrs but the on things that stuck the most was to listen, and to question and i have to say that he may have wished i'd skip that lesson cuz the man talks constantly out of both sides of his mouth and he can't use the twins as a reason. I truly wish him the best. I had the most profound experience watching him via simulcast and in concert here in Cleveland last Sat. and if there was ever a doubt why i love this musican (which there isn't) i can't find one single reason. However you believe give thanks for the precious gift whose name is PRINCE "it is in this place that i see your light shine upon me that places a smile on my face" unknown dawn

As much as it is his life and I truly want him to be happy, I still can't get pass the fact that he was going outside the marriage when he was reading scripture, trying to walk the walk, etc. I was listening to Emancipation the other day and with all that he had to say in that album about marriage, commitment etc. - I had to wonder how long will the current incarnation last? I'm married myself and I know how tough it can be sometimes. But if you make the commitment, you also have to make the effort. I can't jude - only God can. I know in my heart that if the baby was born healthy, it would have been a happier ending for the two of them. But life has moved on and I wish them all peace. Clearly Prince and Mayte HAD Problems. If he Wondered he just Wasn't Happy somehow. He Really Loved Mayte so Who Knows why that Fell apart. Manuela who I don't Know at All Seems to be keeping him in a Happy Frame of Mind so more Power to her. Scorpio and Gemini is Not a Good Mix anyway. It's quite Reminiscent that Vanity Left Prince before Purple Rain Made him a Big Commercial Success now Mayte who was with Tommy Lee is out of his life 20 years after when he Hits for the Second Big Time. Just a Weird Coincidence. Manuela being a Vanity Lookalike, the Jehovah thing, Toronto it all is all too Weird.

[This message was edited Thu Apr 22 12:36:33 2004 by Kissmequick] me too. and i used to object entirely to anyone delving into prince's personal life under the category of "it ain't no one's dang business but his own" in fact once, years ago back in 95 or 96, when i first went online, i was in the sunday night paisley park chat room on AOL and people were talking it up about how he was banging away on kim bassinger's ass. .. i burst out with something to the effect of 'this is gross, people. let's just talk about the music instead' and then someone IM'd me out of the blue, asked me about what i thought of prince and sent along a music file. i wondered at the time if it could have actually been prince himself, but then dismissed the notion since he was married to mayte and i figured he wouldn't likely be spending time online chatting up strangers. so i wrote it off as someone just playing games with my head. but while i was wondering, it crossed my mind that prince might possibly the most lonely guy in the world because his fame would preclude him from ever meeting a person who wasn't either a stalker or totally star struck .. . so even though i feel sorry for mayte i think maybe prince is pretty limited on how he could meet women and what kind of women he would end up meeting, given his immense wealth and fame. it would pretty much prevent him from meeting anyone in the normal way, ever. so, it's kind of easy to see how he'd end up in the role of a playboy

i dont think the title was misleading here. it was a question "Do you think....."that would propose a question the people not a statement.
if it were a declaration of Mayte being upset about prince and all would it not of said "Mayte regrets leaving Prince." period no question. sorry just my opinion. and if some didn't care so much then you would of passed the post and not even been interested to look at it. things that make you go hmmmmm. nothing wrong with being interested. we all are. weather you admit or not. the bad part is pretending to not be. please- aint no shame in this game. remember we all have opinions. no need to come back harshly on this one. peace all.

okay, this doesn't really have to do with whether or not mayte regrets leaving prince but one thing that i've noticed and thought was a little strange was back when they were married and prince would do interviews mayte would always be sitting on the arm of prince's chair. They could have both sat in a love seat or maybe she could have had her own chair but for whatever reason she was always on the arm of prince's chair.
now i know that would piss me off, having my rear falling asleep while I was trying to balance myself on the arm of prince's chair. You never see mani balancing herself on the arm of prince's chair. anyhoo...i'm not too conerned with prince's personal life since i'm not in it. i just hope he's happy and keeps making music.
