Backward message on "What Time is It?" album

On the "What Time Is It" album, the band in two different places says "We don't like new wave". Listen to the very last song on side 2. "Onedayi'mgonnabesomebody" at the very end of the song. The band yells "We don't like new wave". Then you hear Morris and others start laughing. Start from when the laughing ends and play that in reverse. It no longer sounds like laughing, but something spooky. Keep playing it in reverse and instead of hearing "we don't like new wave" you'll hear Prince's voice clearly say "Here we come for you". This is the first of 2 backward messages Prince has placed at the end of a record and also the first that involves laughter. The second of course is "Darling Nikki". Why Prince laughs after saying "I know the Lord is coming soon. Coming soon. Ha ha ha ha." Why would P laugh after saying something like that? Don't know, but after hearing this on The Time's record, buried at the end of the last song on side 2, it's very similar as far as both includes spooky sounding laughter. Anyway, don't listen to The Time's "We don't like new wave" in reverse by yourself. P.S. Prince did call himself "Spooky Electric".
SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."

Uhm....

And uhmmmm.

I often use that WE DON'T LIKE NEW WAVE segue in my mixtapes. Works quite well.
Prince could say I AM THE DEVIL AND I WILL EAT YOUR BABIES TONIGHT backwards and I would still like the segue.
The laughing people include Prince, btw.

Prince also strut around in g-string. I thought he was scarier then.

Did you notice Prince insert the "We don't like New Wave" line into the Musicology tour (at the end of John Blackwell's funk solo just prior to Purple Rain)? I LOVED that he put that obscure reference into the show.

Hey I remember that!

There's a lot more backwards masking in his songs... there's Wendy (or lisa?) talking backwards at the beginning of "Baby I'm a Star" and the entire mumbling over solos on Shortberry Strawcake.
