The following internet sources are all posting articles from the same "MISLEADING" press release sent out from Morris. 1) I work at a major music retailer, and we have a MORRIS DAY solo album on our schedule for June 22nd, not a Time album. 2) I know people who are very close to most of the original members of the time. Let's just put it this way. You all found out about the new album BEFORE they did. This entire thing is Morris' way to make a buck. He's been recording tracks without any of the time members, yet wants to use their name (and if necessary, their likeness) to promote it. 3) The classic time material on this release is going to be LIVE stuff. 4) And yes Prince DOES need to OK all of this, if Morris Day tries to use the name "THE TIME" with any of it, and I don't think prince would OK this without at least some of the other members involvement. It seems that this New album(Hummmm) will B a new live album from the last Time Tour with only 4 new studio titles .....this is strange 2 name this Album a real New ALbum...Morris day wants surfing on Prince 2004 Wave....it's so laughable!! There's alot of confusion,speculation and mis-information on this thread.The only thing that seems to be certain is that a new CD will be released on May 22.We just don't know if it's a new Time album,if it's a Morris Day solo project,if it's a Time project without Prince's involvement,if it's a Live album with four new tracks.
C'mon guys...does anybody have the real scoop??? | |

Ok, as some of you may know, I have a new inside source and here is what I can say about this situation: Yes, of course Prince is in on this. Yes, Jimmy and Terry are supposed to "submit" songs, no word on Jesse. There will possibly be a cable TV special w/Prince and The Time-not sure who else, later this year. Morris and the boys may also pop up an a date or two with Prince. Apparently he keeps screwin' around with the dates-and their money. There seems to still be that love/hate thang between Prince and The Time. SHHHH! You didn't hear any of this not so new info from me  I AM BEATLOAF

The new rumor is that after prince ends his tour, he is going into the studio with all the original members and that they are going to tour.
This is something seperate from the upcoming record again just a rumor and like anything else involving the Time, I'll believe it when i see it | |

The new album is going to have 8 live song from a HOB show in LA a few years ago. My guess is its the same one they lifted Jungle love off of for the Jay and silent bob soundtrack and there was also a westwood one radio broadcast of. The four new songs have no imput from the Time members. Its Morris with other musicians. This is a Morris solo album | |
