I just took another look of my videotaping of Wendy & Lisa's appearance in the German TV-Show "Ohne Filter" from back when they were touring with their Fruit At The Bottom album.

During the interview with the show's host, Wendy says that Lisa is the temperamental one and that she actually slapped someone once. The host asks if it was anyone we know. Wendy says they probably shouldn't get into that.

Anyways, considering that the meeting where Prince informed Wendy & Lisa of his decision to fire them supposedly didn't go too well - after all, the girls had been persuaded to stay when they wanted to leave prior to the European tour in '86 - and that only Wendy, not Lisa, performed with Prince a year or so later, one can't help but wonder...

Also, earlier in the interwiew in "Ohne Filter", the host asked about their contemporary relationship with Prince. Wendy gives Lisa an odd glance and Lisa's looking like she has no intention of answering, so Wendy sighs an gives a PC kind of answer while Lisa is looking away.

I'm thinking that the fateful day where Prince invited Wendy & Lisa over didn't quite go as flowery as Zannalee. More like:

Prince: I've decided to let you go.
Wendy & Lisa: WHAT?!
Prince: I need to get back to working in the studio by my...
SMACK!
Prince: Ow!
Lisa: You... CREEP! After all we've put up with from you and this is how you repay us?! I'll fucking...!
Prince: What are you, crazy? Bitch! Help! Where's Chick?! HELP!
Wendy: Don't do it, Lisa! He's not worth it.
Lisa: I can't believe we got talked into staying with that creep.
Wendy: Come on, Lisa. Let it go. We're outta here.
Lisa: Yeah. Let's go.

Well... Whaddaya think?

Then Prince's eyes go all crossed with rage, and he slaps Lisa, then she slaps him back, and they go rolling across the floor as Wendy looks on and tries not to laugh.

And I've no particular desire to see Wendy & Lisa smack Prince, SquarePeg. For all I know, Lisa slapped some nobody who was rude to her. I just took the clue from the interview and had fun with it.

But I do think it would be sad if it really went down with anger and grudges. I kinda miss the girls. I think it would be great if someday Prince and his girls came together for an all-female band. Imagine, Sheila E. on drums, Rhonda on bass, Wendy on guitar, Lisa on keys, Candy on sax, Cat doing the moves. How cool would that be?

That's not to imply it's something she does a lot. We all have our borderlines and might lose our temper when driven beyond a certain point. I slapped someone once too, many years ago. It's not a memory I'm proud of. And I am certainly not the type to go around slapping people, either. At least, I don't think that I am...
