CARMENS ALBUM WAS NOT THAT BAD! HER ALBUM,RELEASED WAY BACK IN '93, HAD SOME GOOD MOMENTS ON IT!
IAM A RAP FAN, AND I LIKE HER AGRESSIVE IN YO' FACE TYPE OF RAP! "GO,GO DANCER" IS STILL A GREAT JAM WITH ALOT OF ENERGY BEHIND IT! "S.T" a duet of sorts with one time npg rapper tony m. is also a good track! It's very funky and relaxed sounding. a funky groove! "Fantasia erotica" is a song that could of been huge if marketed right. Song was ahead of time in ways as the verses sound very latin and the production sounded resonablly edgy for '93! Also the whole vibe of track is very original! Carmen, for those 3 tracks alone, your album is cool! By the way, on one of the segues off the album, someone (tony m i think), flips through some radio stations and you hear various small clips from some rare prince songs! Does anybody know what any of these are because they sound good?

That Segue is done by Prince himself, it contains parts of songs from the steeles, margie cocks and sexy mf if I'm right ! Futuristic Fantasy

I like "Fantasia Erotica".It has a haunting, mesmerizing quaity to it with a pulsing beat.I agree with you,if it had been promoted properly,it could have been a HUGE dance hit in the clubs.
Carmen actually does okay on the NON-rap tracks, even though she isn't really much of a singer (surprise, surprise). But when she tries to rap,the results can be embarassing... "All aboard, all aboard, cause I'm gettin' funky As you know,as you know,I'm a party junkie"

I definitely recall Celine Dion: With This Tear in there, and, I think, NPG: Goldnigga. And I must confess to a guilty pleasure of digging the album, too. Not so much now, but I played it a lot when it came out. "Everybody Get On Up" was/is my favorite. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

I think Monie Love was on there too with her Prince song which I can't remember what it was called now. I loved this album back when it came out and I still put it on for the kids to dance to now. I think it's from the song "Everybody (Get On Up)" but i could be wrong.I'll have to pull the CD out and listen to it,something I haven't done in years But like I said earlier, her rapping on this album is atrocious.I don't know who's responsible for most of those lyrics (Tony M? Monie Love? Prince??) but it's just unintentionally funny. She fares better when she's just sorta "talking" her way through the songs, like she does on "Good Judy Girlfriend","All That" and "Fantasia Erotica". I think it was a huge mistake to market her as a rapper.Carmen wasn't "ghetto" at all and real rap fans would find this CD to be a joke. They should have just marketed her as a Paula Abdul-type artist....a sexy dancer singing lightweight yet catchy pop/dance tunes.

The songs in the segue r (in this order) :
- Hit u in the socket (unreleased, 1st version, with Rosie Gaines, revamped in 2000 & released on NPGMC in 2001) - In A Word Or 2 (with Monie Love, from her album by the same name) - The Voice (with Mavis Staples, from her album by the same name) - Sexy mf (u know this one, don't u ?) - With This Tear (the rerecorded version by CĂ©line Dion, from her 1992 album) - Goldnigga (with the NPG, from "their" album by the same name) U can easily find all of these songs on Soulseek. By the way, i kinda like "carmen electra", too, even if it's definitly one of Prince's weakest albums. But without "go go dancer", "fantasia erotica", & "this is my world", which r, in my opinion, pure crap, it could have been a really good one. "S.T.", "fun" or "everybody get on up" r definitly great funky songs !!!
