Forgive me if this question has been asked before, but it's puzzled me for years. The club announcer in the 'Purple Rain' movie bore a striking resemblance to Prince; sounded just like him too. My sister and I used to argue about whether or not it was really Prince playing a dual role. Was the announce played by brother and if so, was he listed in the credits?

The announcer at First Avenue was played by Joseph E. Ferrero who apparently was never to be heard from again!
