The Electrfying Mojo ( Detroit) Hello-
I am working on a project and I have been trying to find a sound byte of WJLB's most famous DJ- The Electrifying Mojo. He was on the radio on Sunday nights for the Midnight Funk Association back in the 80's. ( in case you forgot or were not born yet!) I need his famous slogan ( goes something like "If you are at the end of your rope, hold on, tie a knot ... etc, etc.) ALSO, I really need his audio radio interview with Prince that happened in Detroit (Prince called Mojo after his concert at Joe Louis on Prince's birthday.) I really only need a small section of that intereview.. just the part where prince says "hello to all his Motor Babies" I know that there are rules on the forum about asking for MP3's and such, but this is for a project I am working on for graduate school. I have been trying to buy these sound bytes legally but I am having no luck finding them anywhere? I have been searching all over the place and I am starting to hit a major time crunch! If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it more than words can express. Thanks so much! How beautiful do the words have 2 be

"When you feel like your at the end of your rope...tie a knot..keep hanging...keep rememberin' ....there ain't nobody bad like you" Then he's break into a Prince, Time or Vanity 6 joint. For those sho don't know Mojo was the ultimate radio dj. Detroit was great in the 80's. Don't say damn...say whammy whoa. Boy I wish I could help you out. I use to have that interview he did with Prince on tape, but it got ruined. You picked a tough topic, good luck

YES YES!!!!
still got my whammy cloth and my MFA membership card. he was truly the sickness!!! this interview actually took place while he was at WHYT, not JLB. but that's not important. hope you got your sound-clips. i see you posted this quite sometime ago. sorry, i just saw this for the 1st time. *** also of note: Detroit Electronic artist, Moodymann (kenny Dixon, JR.) released the track 'JAN' where he samples Mojo's interview with P. he only uses Mojo's words, and cuts it up in away that you think he is talking to/about Moodymann. an incredible track, just the same. ***
