The vinyl sounds better than the CD...the mastering is horrible as well as the Mazarati album with 100 MPH (that's another one.)

Got the Japanese import a long time ago in a galaxy not that far away for fairly cheep. also got the US CD releases of both Madhouse and Jill Jones. I might even have some of the vinyl laying around, but I haven't so much as looked at my vinyl collection since the late 80's, though I keep moving them with me...

Anyone want to help out with a burned copy???? I've been looking for the cd, but the only place you can find it is on ebay for some $160. SOOOOO ridiculous!!!!! My friends and I can't afford that, so we've been looking for a burned copy. If anyone can help us out it would be appreciated. wink wink wink

Damn. It was great to be able to find the music on cd.

The German cd is badly tracked though, esp the beginning of Mutiny is spoiled this way.

But HEY! With modern day technology you can fix it yourself on your computer or on your mini disc player.

What I love about the album is the fact that this is is basically the moment Prince started to get into Eric Leeds's sax playing and the two instrumentals on there are a prelude to the first Madhouse album.

And the art design on the LP is WICKED! Laura LiPuma, if I am not mistaking. I am not at my own place, so cannot check.

Too bad they did not use the same pics Prince took for the LP sleeve on the German cd release.

True, but the two instrumentals on the family, especially "yes", they smoke anything on the madhouse albums.....

Uhm...

It´s a somewhat different vibe. "8" is meant to be Purple Fusion, "Yes" and " Susy's PJ's" are in the same vibe as the laid back funky vibe of The Family.

I really love the "hoomph" drum track of songs like "Eight" or the lazy sexy feeling of "Three".

And the fun of Prince being silly on "Five".
