CLARE FISCHER UPDATE HELLO ORG PEOPLE
SO HERE IS THE NEW UPDATE SENT TO ME BY MR. FISCHER'S LOVELY WIFE. SHE SENDS ME EMAILS FROM TIME TO TIME ON WHAT'S NEW WITH CLARE. IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE, STOP BY HIS SITE AND TAKE A PEEK. THEY'RE JUST LOVELY PEOPLE. THANX. ....to let you know that two of Clare’s saxophone quartets have just been published and released by Advance Music in Germany. The first one, “Aurelius,” originally written for the Aurelius Saxophone Quartet, they describe as being “a beautiful tone poem with flowing melodies, lush harmonies, mood changes and a heroic climax. More musically challenging than technically demanding, it is a playable and welcome addition to the repertoire.” The second quartet is titled “Blues,” and the description of this one – “Slow, laid back and soulful, with all the rich textural colors and interplay found in the writing of Clare Fischer.” They go on to say, “This little blues is easy to play and a treat to hear. It would be a good stylistic challenge for younger groups, and a perfect change of pace or encore for any program.” Both of the quartets are now available and are listed on Clare’s website – www.clarefischer.com, under “Books.” We had planned to let you know about the release of Clare’s book, “The Music of Clare Fischer, Vol. II,” this month, but when we learned that our dear friend and publisher, Hans Gruber, had lost his battle with cancer, we knew this wouldn’t happen. However, Hans’ wife, Veronika, has assured us that their work will continue, and with the help of their daughter, Claudia and son, Raphael, the book will be coming out – just a bit later than we had at first anticipated, followed soon after by Vol. III. We look forward to hearing from you – whether to order saxophone quartets, or just to say “Hi.” We hope spring “has sprung” in your area and that it is indeed a beautiful one! We both send you our best wishes, Clare and Donna www.clarefischer.com clarefischer@thegrid.net www.cdbaby.com/clarefischer

I'm at the point now where I recognize his string arrangements anywhere without having to look at the liner notes, such as on Mint Condition's latest album. I've been looking for a particular album of his for about 14 years, so maybe I can find it on one of the Websites provided in your forward. Thanks again. Zoot If I come back as a woman, I want a body like yours...

Zoot Yeah....love those strings of his in Prince's music. I didn't know that about Mint Condition though. Wow! They were so underrated! I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.
