And Another Thing about Mayte Why do you all hate her so much?At first I thought is was because she might have said some terrible things about Prince or something like that but when I went 2 her website she speaks highly of him,the fans,and NPG-so what the hecks the problem?And its not like you know exactly what she did 2 Prince if she did anything at all to end their marriage 4 all u all know it couldve been Prince... And like His promise is true

I agree Pink Peach, I love Mayte, and U know..It takes two for everything...It takes two to love one another, hate one another, to disagree with one another..To me, Prince is da man. But, I dont blame her for everything. To me, its up to both of them, so, There both not at fault, just at mutual agreement.

Uh no...I'm negative toward her because she seems silly. And not too long after she came on the scene,the music started to be highly annoying. Hmmm, you thing it started being highly annoying with her??? He put out 3 of his best albums when mayte came along, what has he done since??? Lemme see, the symbol album, gold experience, emancipation, even the outtake album, chaos and disorder was better than anything he has put out since. So barring the sign o' the times, lovesexy period, I think the mayte time period he put out his best music. Since she left, he has gone and become a wacko jehovah, crawled up larry grahams ass and aint came out since. As far as I am concerned, when he changed his name back to Prince, it was too late, this ain't Prince, this is a lounge act. I watched the live in Las Vegas show on Freeview, and it was atrocious, wanna check out a LIVE show by PRINCE, check out the Lovesexy shows floating around on video, and even his last MSG show, where Mayte came out and bellydanced for The One. Nobodies asking her to prove anything like producing a marriage certificate or divorce papers. A few photos a relationship does not make.

He is the best live performer out on the road. I am not a big fan of the Gold/Symbol era and sometime wonder if he problems did't start with Mayte. I am not blaming I just think he went off course due to the marriage/baby situation. | |

In the Gold/Symbol era they were not married, they weren't even really serious about each other. More a best friend/sister-brother almost kind of thing. You must mean the stuff between 1996-somewhere before last year's tour because That was during and after the marriage and baby. | |

I just NEED 2 say that IMO, Prince put out some excellent music when he was with mayte. Yes, EMANCIPATION, GOLD, SYMBOL, CRYSTAL BALL...2 name a few. U can tell by the lyrics and his playing of some of these awesome songs just how much "love" there was pouring forth 2 her from him. Lots happened in their relationship thats really none of anyones business, and it ALWAYS takes "2" to make or break a relationship, AND the music during this time depicts it. IMO, SHE was the love of HIS life. Probably BOTH were deeply hurt in the process, AND what makes mayte any less human than the rest of us? We all make mistakes--good & bad. Marriage is NOT easy 4 anyone! It's work! She seemed 2 have alot of ambition & dreams with "making it" just like apollonia in PR. I hope she finds whats shes looking 4, as IMO, her singing voice was pretty good, & the songs "THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BOY IN THE WORLD" & "IF I LOVE U 2NITE" were VERY good!!! Certainly way ahead of the likes of britney spears, c aquillera, c lauper. I do think prince had better dancers though, but love is blind sometimes...Good Luck 2 U mayte! ...But I think that they were at least "involved" during the GOLD era; long story short- I was having a telephone conversation with someone from the PR office for Glam Slam in 95 to get my VIP pass (for her performance for his "2nd Birthday" as symbol-man) and the damn fool on the other end let it slip that she was indeed his girlfriend, but then tried to backtrack & cover up and eventually was like "okay Reese you know I wasn't supposed to say that, but frankly, I don't even see what the big friggin' deal is about it anyway"... | |

Even if she did do something to him...so what...that's call life...These people have flaws like anyone else(including orgers..though you wouldn't know it by hanging out here). It could have easily been Prince. The man was putting in some crazy hours on the road and in the studio during this time...Maybe she felt neglected. Maybe Prince committed adultery...The possibilities are many from where we're standing. | |
