If these stories floating around are true, I don't understand why Peter Michael would give up his daughter. The Escovedo's are a tight family. I started to think a bit about Sheila. You know she runs the Lil Bunny Foundation; and she said that she was molested also. Could it be possible that Nicole is a result of that?? That would be a reason to give up for adoption

WoW!! if nicole was molested than that could Xplain alot!! a whole bunch. if it was not 4 her famous father, lionel richie and all of those famous rich kid friends of hers. she is just boyfriend beating from dancing on a pole 4 dollar bills.

Check out the January 27, 2004 issue of Star Magazine (Mel Gibson is on the cover). There is an exclusive interview with Peter Michael Escovedo, where he reveals that he is Nicole's birth father. The story and pictures are on pages 54-55 if you want to browse through it at the supermarket checkout and don't want to spend $3 bucks for the mag.

Basically the article says he and Nicole's birth mother weren't together when she was born. He was a struggling musician and she was Lionel's backstage assistant. The birth mother is unnamed in the article. Lionel and Brenda Ritchie offered to take care the child and later adopted her. Peter said he and the birth mother felt Nicole would have a better life with the Ritchies, but it wasn't easy giving her up. The producers of The Wayne Brady Show, where Peter is the show's bandleader, wanted to do an on-camera reunion with him and Nicole when she was on the show Jan 7, but she declined. Nicole is on friendly terms with her birth parents, but considers the Ritchies her real parents since they were the ones who raised her.

There is also a picture and quote from Nicole's aunt, Sheila E., who says "I love my niece Nicole". Star magazine claims they're now a celebrity news mag (like People or US Weekly), and not a tabloid anymore (like the Globe or Enquirer), which is probably why there are so many exclusive interviews with celebrities in this issue. I tried to look for a resemblance between Nicole and Sheila E, but I only noticed it in the eyebrows and both of theirs are plucked.(LOL!!)
