WENDY AND LISA'S "FRIENDLY FIRE"

HELLO FELLOW ORGHEADS:

:WAVE2:

I've seen copies on sale on ebay of this disc. Does anyone own this thing? What does it sound like? Is it worth picking up? Any information would be appreciated. I have everything but this.

its a nice lil experience...its not a cohesive album but it has some wonderful wendy and lisa moments on it...

trevor horn was all wrong for them though...ive always loved the off-kilterness (sic) of wendy and lisa's music...lisa's lazy yet pained vocal execution of "dont try to tell me"...wendy's imperfect yet perfect guitar solo in "waterfalls"...the wailing on "strung out"...it gives their music character...

well, trevor likes to rub the shit out of his music and whats left is a shiny brand spanking new penny...sure its pretty but it aint nothing special...

back to friendy fire...my fav track has to be 'madmenswimupstream'...AWESOME song...and the funky and very dancable "so high"...

email or org me if you'd like a copy...its my way of fighting against bootleggers...

Friendly Fire is not the title of this album, it's just what someone came up with. It's more of a novelty if you dig Wendy & Lisa, it doesn't even come close to any of their self-produced albums. The only song that I dig is "I'm In Love Again" it's funky and bouncy like a W&L b-side though(I wouldn't give album status). The great thing about their albums is that you can listen and always find something new...with the Trevor Horn production it's not there. Although he did a brilliant job with the ladies and Seal on his second album.

re:Friendly Fire

its called this cause it was trevor's favorite track of the ones they recorded together...

but yeah, w & l never actually agreed to the title...it just sorta has stuck...
