On more than one occasion, I have noticed org.ers referring to her in a negative manner. Why can't someone who has an appreciation of Prince's music one day go on to be in a relationship with him, or even marry him? Why is it such a "fairy tale" when we hear of celebrities dating or marrying a person who proclaims to " not know who they were", or "not be a fan" that just sweeps the masses off of their feet? She doesn't have to be the thing on the side while he was still with Mayte, maybe they had an employer/employee relationship or had a platonic friendly relationship until after his previous relationship ended. Often times, especially after a break up, people tend to turn to their friends for comfort, and many times that leads to a serious relationship. I think jealousy plays a major role in many peoples comments. Also, it is a given that Prince is a musical genius, but are we to think that he is a complete sucker for a pretty faced fan and automically falls in love with them and marry's them. Please, give the man more credit. The vast majority of us that come to this site do not know him or Mani or Mayte personally. I am sure a remote few, and I do mean few, have the experience of interacting with any of them that would amount to anything substantial. Having gone to Prince concerts for over 20 years, I can say that I have seen thousands of beautiful (and sometimes half naked) women attend his shows. He did not marry any of them, and if he did, is it really anyone's business? So what Mani was/is a fan...it only enhances a relationship when the person that you are dealing with has an appreciation of your craft, your proffesion, your hobbies, etc.. I personally have no negative feelings towards Mani. I think that it's easier to have negative feelings for Mayte because she's in the public eye so much more. So yeah, that's my two cents.

I think Mani and Prince SEEM more in love than Mayte/Prince..Prince doesn't feel the need to flash Mani around the way he did with Mayte. Mani's no bracelet. I know little about her but she seems cool. As for her being a fan, and now being the wifey...more power to her, what female Prince fan (and half the male Prince fans for that matter) would NOT marry Prince if given the chance?!

back in the 1998-1999 years when prince was having parties at the park rther frequently, i happened to attend one such party with a friend from out of town. this was the era where prince had parties, then invited the 'chosen few' into studio A to watch the band actually play while the rest of the uninvited danced to the DJ in the L4OA room.

about 2:30 a.m. or so i looked around and realized i couldn't see my friend anywhere among the dwindling crowd. this was of some concern to me since she was also my ride to the park, and home. thinking she'd maybe popped out for a cigarette i left the building and looked for her. whatm i didn't know was that the doors had locked behind me, and there was no re-entry into the park permitted. not only that, bur P's bodyguards were clearing the parking lot, asking people to leave instead of hanging around.

so there i was, no purse - it was locked into my pal's car. no money for a cab, no nothing. rock and a hard place. as i stood uncertainly and no doubt awkwardly by the foyer door i saw mani approaching from within. 'hey' i began as she neared me, thinking of the sweet, smiley person she always was when prince was around.

to my surprise not only did she totally ignore my plea for help, she gave me the coldest up-and-down look you can imagine, turned her nose way up into the air and swept by without so much as acknowledging my existence. you can imagine i felt kinda bad

so this is subjective, but to me it became apparent at that moment that mani has more than one face besides the sweet friendly one she shows prince.

Why do we believe that because someone's famous that he is so much different than the rest of us. Prince is just as human as everyone here. Yes, men can be rotten and selfish, but I believe that he really,really did love Mayte. I don't believe that he would sent Mayte off to Spain so he could live with Mani. If he was going to divorce her anyway wouldn't it have made sense that by the time Mani came into the picture that they were already seperated. I know that Prince is a cheater, but Mayte was his wife and the mother of his child, I would like to think that he would've given her more respect than that.

Many false stories had to be retracted when it is Mayte and Mani spreading rumours to hype their careers. PS have yall seen Mani following Prince around lately...? maybe he got rid of an annoying pest. Smile.
