Michael Bland, Sonny Thompson, Tommy Barbarella, Morris Hayes, and Mike Scott won't be attending the event for one main reason - they weren't invited!

I wonder why the obvious omission?

Seems to me that the Family Jamm almost exclusively includes those who worked with Prince in the '80s.

You are right Jasziah, I guess I should of read the press release. But still they got Kat Dyson who wasn't around in the 80's. Close friend of Sheila's I suppose.

It will be interesting to see some of those long lost faces from the 80's bands though.

Well, Michael B WAS in the Partyman video, which was released in 1989, so in theory, he should be invited at the very least!

No, I know they weren't invited because I talked to one of those I listed and he knew from having talked recently to the others. All except Morris had been touring with Italian artist Giorgia this past year and are in constant contact. I reported a month or so ago on a late night jam at Paisley this summer with Michael, Sonny, Morris, and Prince. Everyone stays in touch at least periodically.

By the way, it is no big deal to any of them, but they obviously know of the event and have talked about it. As for the quote "1st Annual", all depends on how well this one does as to whether there be another.

Good question on whether Dez or Andre were invited though.
