Recently ripped my vinyl to CD, but it's still one cd I look out for all the time. Just can't justify the price this goes for.

Its worth seeking out the CD. THe sonics are good. Having the album is great if you find one with the gatefold sleeve in good condition. I think Prince is credited with taking some of the photos in it. No serious Prince collector is without it.

I attatched my record deck to my computer using a pre amp. (you can just attatch your music system via the normal amplifier, but the pre amp is very easy)
Next record the album/tracks using "windows sound recorder" - you have to make a larger blank wav file than the default setting - explained in the help files. If you have a good soundcard fitted it is apparently easier, but I have had no problems with my cheapo in built card.
Once all the tacks have been recorded to wav, run Steinberg Clean to get rid of pops/crackles etc.
Burn to disc.

Steinberg Clean comes with WaveLab Lite, another editing tool - apparently lots more options for cleaning up and adding effects etc to wav files. I haven't bothered with it as the results running through Clean are fine to my ears.
I'd say it is pretty easy, I'm no tech fiend and the only problem I've come accross is my system crashing if I try and record the whole album at once, so I just do one track at a time. Just takes a bit longer.

The CD is very expensive. I would like it but I don't want to pay a high price for it. I'd pay no more than £30-40 at most for it.

Found the vinyl.
Then got thecd when it was released.
The tracking sucks though, them old Warner things are not edited right.
The High Fashion to Mutiny cut is lame.

Just like many on Parade. Hearing residual sounds from the previous songs.

So I threw it onto MD and edited the album RIGHT, just as I edited 777-9311, cuz it misses the first beat.
