It depends if you are one who looks at your glass as half full or half empty. You decide...Larry is a good man and is not a zealot. Sly stones legacy is enhanced by his band a la Cynthia Robinson,Jerry Martini and Larry Graham. He was nothing without his band.

Hardly a thief of Sly's Legacy. If Sly got up off the pipe and came out with something, we wouldn't be scrambling for second best. No offense to the preacher man, but still, Sly supposedly has been working on new material, he's just too tweaked to do anything.

So, nobody stole Sly's legacy. Sly dropped that shit to pick up the pipe.

A little bit legend, a little bit warped, but not a theif, on the same grounds as the above posts. More a protector of the legacy.
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark

Larry is the best funk bass player who ever lived. Even Bootsy said so. I really don't care what his beliefs are 4 me it's his musicianship that counts not who he chooses 2 pray 2.

Thanks for cutting through the shit and speaking the truth. Larry Graham IS funk bass and deserves respect for being a funk legend.

musical legend undoubtedly. larry graham is a great bass player. one of THE greats. i was there.

warped religious zealot? things have definitely changed at the park since larry came on the scene. the ONE religion makes it harder for the 'non-believers' who follow a different path. i was there. like, they never used to but now sometimes they divide the audience into 'believers' and 'unbelievers'... 'their truth' and 'everyone else's truth' so exclusionary and that's a new thing at the park. kind of a religious eliteism, to my way of seeing it. it hurts. it's contrary to the spirit of the old prince imo. he used to LIKE us folks who are different.
but that was then.. and who's to say it's larry's influence anyway? i wasn't there.

thief of sly stone's legacy? i dunno. i heard a story larry ain't spoken to sly in years? or was it sly ain't spoken to larry in years? which is a shame, if true. but then again i wasn't there.

there. all those words and i got nothin much to say on the subject except: musical legend = definitely!

Hmmm.. i really liked the Prince community and especially the lyrics of his old songs left the way they were. I also remember how great things were during year one of NPGMC.. so i'll have to say "Warped Religious Zealot" Can't wait til the time warp is over.
