What is an Elephant Box? I'm usually quite astute when it comes to lyrics and metaphors, but this one has got me!

Elephant boxes are anywhere from small fist-sized boxes to large trunks usually made of wood, workable metal or some soft stone-like material and adorned with artwork and carvings like vines and, of course, images of elephants with upturned trunks.
The image of the elephant with a raised trunk is a symbol of good luck in many areas of the world where they're indigenous. People often place prized keepsakes -- jewelry, lockets, baby cloths, photos, memoirs, etc. -- in boxes that bear their image in reverence of good memories or as a gesture of faith, hope or good will.
