Carmen Electra on VH1, Family Bashes Prince

VH1, the only station a true Prince fan can rely on to see him and his videos on TV, since MTV betrayed the music world and no longer plays videos. VH1 created one of their biggest hit shows called "Driven" where relatives and friends of the famous person featured talks about how that famous person became who they are today. "Driven" has shown the history of many artists such as Britney Spears, Christina Auguillera, Missy Eliot, P. Diddy and several more.

Well recently, VH1 featured Carmen Electra as the newest episode of "Driven." Unfortunately for Prince fans, Carmen's friends and family talked about Carmen's days with Prince as being controlled. Carmen's family members talked about how Prince helped her out, started her career and "treated her like a princess." They went on to talk about how Prince was "obsessive" and a "control freak." They even talked about Prince sending people to "stalk" Carmen.

Personally, and I'm sure many other Prince fans feel the same way, I was quite upset by this. The whole interview talking about Prince took just about 10 minutes to get the point across that he was the bad guy in the relationship. We never hear Prince's side of the story at all, and it has come to my attention that E! had shown their own episode about Carmen, and showed the opposite. They talked about how Prince helped her out and Carmen wanted more all the time.

In my opinion, I think Carmen is the one being a leach. If you really analyse the VH1 presentation, you could get the same feeling. Prince was NOT justified here at all.. and meanwhile, VH1 will be showing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame presentation, celebrating Prince. Isn't this a kind of double standard? You make your own decision.

Prince is a weird man. I wouldn't doubt some of the things they said about him.

Unless she's showing her titties I couldn't give a fuck about Carmen.

I wonder if he had fun leading on the likes of Carmen, Nona et al. Sounds like hard work to me. No wonder the music suffered!

i know this was the first time she has said or had somepeople say anything about the whole thing. she never use to say they were even together.
i dont doubt anything that was said either. they have been said by many other girls he has been with so why was it a shock?

Is this the first time you've ever read anything on what Prince is like to his women?? This is NOT the first time he's been described as a control freak or obsessive. And Prince is the one that approached her and lavished her with things no one forced him to. To be a leech you'd actually having to sucking someone dry against their will. I'm not Carmen's biggest fan but none of this story was "new" on the ways of Prince by a long shot.

falloff You have no idea about the history of prince and his past girlfriends, do you?

It didn't bash Prince, it told the truth, he is (or at least was) a control freak, deal with it.

Do you not know that he is a control freak? He vaguely mentions it himself when talking about Mayte. He said once that when he married her he thought he owned her and then decided to not call her "my wife" anymore

Carmen is far from being a leach. After leaving Prince's camp, I don't remember here using Prince's name to get more press, jobs, or attention.

Shows how much VH1 is full of shi* like what!!! I just posted about this in another thread. I thought that was going overboard with the emphasis they tried to make out of it, and matter of fact that whole fake as* documentary. I guess like everything else of it's kind, it's just a publicity stunt. Out of her hands beyond her control as well, so whose to blame???...

Prince's MO of dating MUCH younger women -- particularly his proteges -- kinda reinforces his 1980s reputation of being a bit of a tight-reined Svengali, doesn't it? Kinda like it's the truth...

I am sure he was controlling with Carmen. After all he was paying for everything. Is that not what she should have expected when a man financially supports you. I think they both were using each other. Therefore, I don't get her family and friend complaining. It is not like Carman got nothing out the relationship. In addtion, on the E special one of friends said Prince gave her some carreer advice and money after they went their separate ways. If he was so horrible to her why did she go back to him for help.

The controlling part is probaly true However, it seems that Carmen got a lot of money, clothes and a recording contract out of the deal. If a man is shelling out a lot of money on a woman with no talent or job skills don't be surprised that some controlling is going to take place. I don't understand why Carman's friends and family are complaining. I am sure Prince was not putting a gun to her head and making her hang around.
