TC Ellis - True Confessions

This must be the worst album by a Prince related artist. It's truly dreadful - it must have stank the place up when it was released, and it sounds even worse now.

What do you think is the worst related artist album?

I'd much rather listen to Carmen Electra than True Confessions. Not that she's a better artist or anything, but it's a better album.

TC Ellis was horrible. Remember Good Question? they were something like Milli Vinilli...pretty forgettable too.

I can't say Carmen Electra, she's too fine to diss, but her CD was awful.

True Confessions really sucked.
It was a BIG dissapointment, because I felt that T.C. Ellis showed some talent (and promise) in Graffiti Bridge.

I never bought the TC Ellis CD,but I almost did.I was in a record store in 1991,saw it and picked it up.In the end,I didn't buy it because I could tell that it was crap...lol...and from reading the views on this thread,it looks like I made the right choice.


I love the Ingrid Chavez CD.It's dark,mysterious and hypnotic.Her poetry is cryptic at times (what's an "Elephant Box"??),but the music throughout is heavenly.Very mesmerizing and relaxing.

Personally, I could care less for all the NPG mierda. The Revolution was like family to me. That incarnation of Prince as well as the ASSOCIATED ARTISTS OF THAT PERIOD (staying on topic) are the best. everything since has been just mediocre. I can barely stand to hear the rainbow children CD. My buddy gave it to me as he didn't like it either.

Morris Day says Prince hasn't changed. If not, then why does the music sound so much worse?

I'm not sure if I should post this but I've read Kim Basinger's album from 1989 was so horrible it was never released.It's also questionable if Prince was even involved with it.Has anybody heard this?

As far as ingrid goes, I liked the music, liked the poetry, but her voice gets on my nerves, which obviously doen't make this one of my favs...

carmens album is quite good me thinks, but yes the tits were better !!!

madonna ripped her off ingrid chavez's sound. ingrid and lenny wrote justify my love and madonna stole it got caught and had to pay up !!!

if you drop justify my love anywhere on ingrids album it fits and fits perfectly.

if you drop it on any madonna album it stands out because its totally diferent to anything maddy's ever done.

What about the song "U" written by Prince, sung by Paula Abdul? I have no words to express how horrible it was.

The Carmen Elektra CD wasn't very good.Carmen is sexy as hell,but she's not very talented as a singer or a rapper.In fact,the best thing about her album is the funky music,played by Prince and the NPG.The only great song on her album is the haunting,techno-flavored "Fantasia Erotica" which should have been promoted to the clubs.

TC Ellis. The managed to ruin Bambi, with Prince's approval!!!

I don't think it's the worst album but I'll never forgive that he made a peace of shit out of such a fresh and powerful song like "Girl of my dreams" - It's incredible how Prince was able to polish the unreleased medley of Girl of my dreams, Can't stop this feeling I got and We can funk in a way that every released version later sounded weak and lacked originality. What a shame!

That was when Prince started in not trusting his instincts anymore.
