Okay Andre3000 and D'angelo have done it like Prince.

For me, these 2 men have managed to take a Prince vibe and successfully win people over...
AS FAR AS MUSIC IS CONCERNED NOT IMAGE...well maybe Andre3000 hmmm
Thats just my twocents
Andre3000's "The Love Below" incredibly shadows Prince's music and style...like this tune called "Love Haters"...in the beginning, I almost thought it was a clip taken from a Prince song... you guys know the guitar riffs that Prince plays at the end of Dirty Mind...and also in the lil interlude "Orgasm" on the "Come" album? Thats exactly what it sounds like...then it has the nerve to fuse into a jazzy sound! omg *ahem N.E.W.S.*
D'angelo and his singing style disbelief How many male R&B or Neosoul singers have a high upper register like D'angelo and manage to sound like Prince? *cue "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" when D'angelo starts soul screaming at the end a.k.a. Prince's "Darling Nikki" scream Your lil Prince wanna griiind griiind griiind griiind!!!

My clapping 4 them 2... remember, this is my twocents.

OK. neutral

But D'Angelo never created anything that made my Prince Antenna perk up like the best songs on TLB.

This is not to say he doesn't have Prince's influence coming from every pore (along with a huge Marvin Gaye influence), it's just that I've never been a big fan of his.

Ure complaining about one of the best cuts on the album.. I really appreciated the jazzy side of the song... Andre took it to a new level with is music, and it was damn good.

How could I compare N.E.W.S. in it's entirety to The Love Below? I was talking about one song.

And anyway, I can compare any album I feel like...it's my opinion... neutral

There will never be another Prince. While Andre and D'angelo are both influenced by Prince, they've got their own vibe/sound as well.

To me, D'angelo has NEVER made me think "hmm..this sound like something prince would do", the sreaming you're reffereing to wasn't created by/exclusive to prince.
Andre, well, same with andre. He's quite unique if you ask me. "The Love Below" honestly didn't sound like something "princely" to me.
I don't see them as having a "prince-vibe", I see them as having their own vibe-a prince influenced one.

that's MY two cents.
