Someone should of told Janell that Prima ballerina's should be 6 feet tall. How tall is Mayte. about what 5 feet tall too short. Back to the drawing board. You can bellydance. And don't fall for that line that Mayte's grandfather worked at the United Nations either. Anything to get some attention. I am a ballet dancer and I am 5 feet 4 inches. Between 5'4" and 5'6" is the ideal height for a classical dancer. Six ft. tall female ballet dancers have a very difficult time getting a contract because they are simply too tall to be partnered, especially when they are on pointe. They don't have enough men that are taller than that to balance out the partnership, and the woman could never fit into the corps de ballet because you have to look the same as everyone else, and tall dancers are more rare. So unless you are a star of a company, you need to be of an average height. The reason that she didn't make it as a "ballet" dancer was because she just wasn't strong enough.
