Searching for Tony M

I went so far as to call Taco Bell corpotate headquarters and ask if there was a Tony M on the payroll at any of the stores. Not one. But thedid say that Andre Cymone was about to be promoted to assistant manager after working there since the Dance Electric single fell off the charts.

Think the album is called Aaliyah too. He's done some production stuff ! He's not to be heard on any tracks though.

This was my whole point of starting the thread called "Why do Prince's proteges disappear after working with him?".It's insane. Even the talented folks (Rosie Gaines for example) can't seem to establish their own successful careers after leaving him.I remember in 1994 reading an article about Tony M. in one of the early NPG magazines. He sounded really confident about breaking out of the purple shadow and making a career for himself as a successful rapper. But,to no one's surprise, his "career" became as big as T.C. Ellis'.

sad And I like Tony,btw

Well this shows you how difficult it is the mkae it in the music business with talent. I mean we all know the Rosie Gaines is better than Beyounce or Jennifer Lopezs or any of this other piece of ass young hoochies that are appluaded as divas.

Prine has given some artists that would have been seen a chance. Do you think Sheila E would be as large as she is - or was - without her stint with Prince? The same goes for Morris Day, Jesse Johnson, and Jam and Lewis. Carmen Electra to a lesser extent I guess. Say what you will about his past relationships with former assoicates, they have al been helped by being purple for a while

Well this shows you how difficult it is the make it in the music business with talent. I mean we all know the Rosie Gaines is better than Beyounce or Jennifer Lopezs or any of this other piece of ass young hoochies that are applauded as divas. But talent is not in style these days. This is why hip hop has infected everything.

The Dance Electric was written adn performed by Prince - you know. Andre's biggest - and some would argue that it was his only - hit record. Prince is the shit.
