Family Jamm...

Hi,

I sent an email to the organisers of the Family Jamm, asking if they would release the event on DVD.

I explained that as I'm in London, I can't go, but money made from the sales of the dvds could go 2wards the cause.

Well I did get a reply - short!!- "I don't have that info yet".

Is there anyone else that would be interested? I personally think we should start mailing the Lil Bunny Foundation to let them know that there is interest.

Anyone on the org interested? smile

First I was thinking, you're a bit early. There isn't even a date for the event, yet. But of course you're right. A pro-shot video-recording for a DVD must be prepared (as we all can easily see with Prince's Aladdin DVD).

I'm located in Germany and a short-trip to L.A. is out of reach so of course I would be interested, too.

BUT ... I don't think there will be a DVD.
A retro Family Jamm show would not work without classic "Prince family" jams. But all those classic tracks are protected under copyright. Don't know if WB has to nod or if Prince has to nod or if both have to nod ... I simply believe there's too much pride, too much bureaucracy, too much whatever involved to make this possible.

They will be playing all the classic jams plus some solo stuff.

i think its a great idear to email the bunny foundation with an intent to donate monies and also say you would be interested in purchasing a dvd if the proceeds benefited the charity...

they cant say no to that if enough people show interest...

Very good idea...I would definitely be interested in a DVD, as I wouldn't be able to make the cross-country trip to see the real thing.
