i really liked him at first but, after six years of seeing him play at the park, and hearing him play the EXACT SAME TWO SONGS over and over (thank you for letting me...everyday people), i am sick and tired of those two songs and am wondering why the hell he is allowed to DO that. i think his tendency to repeat and repeat and repeat his material over and over and over and over has led prince into the trap of remixing and remixing and remixing and remixing. . . the same stuff over and over and over.

and the times i've seen larry's wife tina onstage i have wondered what the hell prince is thinking. . .???
imo larry has had too much influence on prince. prince is ten times smarter and more creative than mr graham, but because he idolizes LG he has allowed his work to be adversely affected by larry's peculiar ideas of what's 'cool'. taking shoes off onstage?
gross, not cool, imo.

i've had enough of LG.

Larry Grahm - a damn fine songwriter, singer and bass player. Without Larry's contribution to music, funk wouldn't be what it is. Now, my question is this: Did you want to know what people think of LARRY or what people think of Larry in relation to Prince?

(in my Randy Jackson voice) Dude, you REALLY don't know your funk history. Go back and listen to "POW" by GCS and get educated on creativity. The reason Prince idolizes LG is because LG was GREAT. He was doing what Prince does without the zillion dollar budget that Prince had, the label-assisted image coaching, movie deals, etc. Larry was great LONG before Prince was. He INFLUENCED Prince and MANY others.

DO YOUR MUSICAL HISTORY HOMEWORK. Grahm Central Station, Larry Grahm as a solo artist AND Sly and the Family Stone all showcase Larry's abilities. Larry brought thumping the bass into the game. As for not liking his voice...that's personal taste. There's no accounting for that.

He was jamming back with Sly.

Graham Central Station had a song called "Can You Handle It" that was jamming on the job.

It's just the recent turn of events with Prince that sour things.(Although it's his life not ours.)

Did you know Larry produced a track on Tyka Nelsons first or second CD?

I was looking through a UK site called the databank experience and saw that.

So maybe Larry has been plotting this sinister move for ages! (Just kidding)

Very Creative Brother.A Bass Genius easily in the Top 5 All-time Bass Players IMHO.He is also a Badd Ass on Guitar,Drums&Keyboards.A One Man Band.Doo Wop Singer as well.peep his Harmony with Sly&The Family Stone&Graham Central Station.you name the style&Larry can cover it.Very Talented Cat.but He was also forgotten for many years.as little as 10 Years ago He was Backing up Eddie Murphy when He Eddie would tour.that is Scary.I don't think Him&Prince work that well together Musically however because I don't see anything being added.but on a Personal side I think they have Bonded&Larry Has shown Prince another purpose in this Life as a Human Being.
