Recording Artist & Songwriter Taja Sevelle has released a new music video for her song, Silver Lining. This is the first of a series of five new songs and videos, from Taja’s upcoming EP, Higher Way.

Taja Sevelle was accepted into the Berklee College of Music in the very same week that the legendary Prince offered her a record deal. Opting for the record deal, she wrote Love is Contagious, which became a Top Ten Hit and the first single from her debut record on Paisley Park/Warner/Reprise. She went on to record her third CD, Toys of Vanity on Sony 550.

Sevelle has singing and songwriting credits on over 12.5 million CDs and songs, sold and streamed. She has written with legendary writers including Prince, Burt Bacharach, Nile Rodgers, Thom Belle, D-Moet, and Dennis Matkosky. Her new song, Silver Lining was co-written and produced by Billboard Award Winning, Grammy Nominated Producer, D-Moet (Nas, Snoop Dogg, Foxy Brown…) Taja’s new video was directed by award winning Director, Chico Bennett. Grammy nominated Bennett also produced Taja’s two records on Paisley Park/Warner Brothers, making him the first outside producer that Prince ever hired.

She has received numerous awards for her humanitarian work with Urban Farming, a 501c(3) she founded in 2005. The organization focuses on “Creating an Abundance of Food for All in Our Generation” and began with 3 community gardens of free food. There are now over 66,000 gardens worldwide that are a part of the Urban Farming Global Food Chain®.

Taja’s Silver Lining video was filmed in Los Angeles, and takes us on a ride of ‘Silver Lining’ activities, with the strong message to live in, and look for the Silver Lining of life. One lyric, “We make our breakfast out of Silver Lining” puts a new spin on a healthy start to the day. “The bottom line is…Think on Good Things! Our world needs that now more than ever!” Taja exclaims.

I was nervous for a second since the video looked like I happened upon a Real Housewives episode but the track is quite impressive. Could have fit right in on her 80s Paisley Park album but sounds modern and confident as well. Its super catchy. I dig it.
