Apollonia Studio 6 - Apollonia 6 (members) re-united

https://youtu.be/YQ2vWwo9FgI

Nice to see the group round a table reminiscing about the old times, e.g.

Susan saying ‘I Need A Man’ being the first song she sang on.

Brenda talking about her first meeting Prince at the NYC Roxy show on 9th December 1980, the day after John Lennon was shot, confirming they stayed near the Dakota building.

Brenda telling the story of when Prince first heard her sing - along to a demo of Stand Back! There seems to be a mixing of timelines with this, as Brenda says it was early in 1982 on the Contoversy Tour but Stevie Nicks has said she wrote Stand Back after listening to Little Red Corvette in early 1983.
There may or may not be something coming!

it's such a shame that the Apollonia 6 album is nowhere to be found on the streaming services. There was never an expanded CD edition either."Blue Limousine" was always a favorite of mine.

I'm so happy that I watched this last night because it appeared to have finally opened up the flood gates here.

I have to say that I didn't "grow up" with those women, they have a few years on me and I first got into Appolonia 6 before I got into Vanity 6. Seeing them all sitting around talking reminded me of the stories I read surrounding Denise's funeral and obviously seeing them in person is a completely different vibe than just reading about something.

I don't think Brenda was too long winded, maybe she just has more to say than Susan and it's Apollonia's show and she's being a gracious hostess. She really has a California Dreaming vibe about her and it throws me off when she starts talking about spirits and things like that but not in a weird way. In a way that I wonder if I'm missing out on some things by not being MORE in tune with spirits the way she seems to be.

I was surprised to learn that Susan was from Trinidad since she has a Hindu vibe about her to me.

It's refreshing to listen to the group discuss the "early days" because that time really was part of the sexual revolution and so much of the allure and reputation about the "family" centers around that. At least the stage presence and act suggests that. I think by the time all the bands started doing music videos, they rose to the occasion of creating a much more mature, sensitive-to-the-ages-of-their-(newly found mtv audiences).

The co-host (who kept asking from a "fan's perspective") must have some really crazy fan stories to tell because he acts like the fans sit around dishing a LOT of tea in their house(s). I find it funnier to believe that they all went on stage practically naked every night, they probably got in the best shape in their lives working out (not) dressed like that under all those hot lights and wow what a way to experience the world. It's notable to mention how much growth and maturity and CLASS took place over the years, they went from scantally clad "hookers" to "well-dressed" executives!

I know this post is long winded hopefully it's not too trolly.

a few questions that could be asked....

***There is a previously unreleased "video album" of the Apollonia 6 album. It's been circulating on sites like youtube for awhile now. What is the story behind this project and how come it was never finished and officially released?

***Any plans for some kind of reunion? A one-off gig, perhaps?

***Brenda....in the late 80s,I believe you were preparing a solo album. The planned artwork was revealed awhile back.Any details about that project?

Oddly right now on her instagram she singled out a singer named Apollonia, 26yr old girl, as an imposter and now she is getting some kick back because the girl is real not an imposter. APOLLONIA wrote which i find odd, "I am the legal owner of the name APOLLONIA, APOLLONIA 6, and APOLLONIA6 studios" which is her podcast one, now the last I can see, but the first two? Her instagram post was not thought out at all which seems to be a running trend with her, Jill Jones and others, but you cant stop someone from having the same first name as you, and then calling her an imposter, bad move, this girl is not using your photos your likeness in anyway, shes a 26yr old singer and mother being jumped at by a woman twice her age that she probably never even heard of, in fact the girls mother cited she was named Apollonia after the Movie the Godfather, which cites this in Italy. Just a bad look overall.

I thought I was getting a heads-up about Part II this week but it turned out to be a smaller chunk about "The Hookers".

Wow! Love it! Wikipedia states "Bennett started off as a member of a Columbia Records band called Ken Lyon and Tombstone, which toured with Mott the Hoople and Queen."
