So no What Time Is It Expanded Edition??????? I thought for sure being that Rhino did the remaster expanded edition of The Time last year we’d at least get What Time is It? this year. I know a lot of folks complained about it last year but I was extremely happy with the thought that the sound on The Time albums was getting an upgrade. They’re great albums and deserve the remaster treatment. Plus it’d be great to have Grace as a bonus track. And I’m sorry but as a DJ I love the inclusion of the single versions. I won’t hold my breath for a Vanity 6 expand edition but if it were released it’d make me so happy. V6 is such a fun album. I wish the protégé albums could be rediscovered/rereleased/remastered there is so much great material there. It frustrates me how much of Prince’s music is out of print or un remastered. | |

I agree,’What Time Is It?’ deserves some kind of remaster/deluxe edition.It is a classic! Such a shame that the associated artist albums aren’t getting the respect and attention they deserve. | |

i had no idea The Time (debut) was remastered at first. When I heard it, I was very happy to hear how good it could sound. It really gives hope that all the older material is going to sound great one day... |

I said it before but the Estate is sitting on so much stuff they can easily sell for a small profit. I don't understand the sluggishness of their actions....

The Time's catalog was remastered on CD for the Japan market a few years ago. I was going to skip them due to no bonus tracks but I copped the first two albums and the sound was much improved over what was issued in the states back in the 80s or 90s. Again, I really don't think WB is much interested in reissuing or releasing deluxe editions of the proteges via any format.
