I'm looking forward to part II as well, so many new stories. They didn't even reach her album yet and barely touched PR in part I.

That was better than I expected. Apollonia didn't need to be there honestly, but it's the most focused I've ever heard Jill so maybe that's because of her.

I've never heard some of those details, like how they did the 777 beat live, or her uncle being their early hair stylist.

I thought it was pretty well known that Earl Jones was related to Jill Jones. I think there's a pic somewhere from 85 or 86 where he's touching up Prince's hair while Prince was getting out of a car.

Yeah, it's from the filming of Under The Cherry Moon - the scene where Prince buys Mary the Porsche from the Jaded Three. - - - Anyone know anything about this Katy (who was teaching the whole cast to dance) that Jill mentioned Prince was seeing during the filming of Purple Rain?

Looking forward to part 2. Jill is a great storyteller and should have her own show. Apples and the other dude seemed a little sleepy and I'm not sure why they asked Jill to censor herself before recording. Wrong move for a podcast.

Intersting about the night Jimmy and Terry didnt show up. I knew for the Time Prince played bass and Lisa played Keyboards while Jerome fake-played bass on stage. But didn't know that Jill tried to play Jimmy's parts for the Vanity set. Wold love to see/hear that set!!

I think she's explaining that the snare gets doubled up from the tape edit in a way that wasn't naturally playable live...but you're right that it's the hi hat. I could see Jill mixing them up in the moment.

He was involved with the collaborator on the dance company, so that would make a lot of sense.

Not sure wha tyou mean by from the tape edit. She said the word high hat and snare. What I meant it is that I think the high hat pattern is so intricate that maybe you need both hands to play it, thus not being able to play the snare and the high hat at the same time. So I assumed she meant that she was hitting the snare or claps on a pad on the and 4 while Jellybean played the high hat pattern using both hands.

I can't believe Prince laughed at Devan's hair catching fire! Man, Jill told some hilarious stories. Watching Part 1 was great fun.
