What happened to Jam & Lewis?

why have they been so quiet lasat 8 years??no big hits no great songs? have they gotten old & music has passed them by like it did Prince in the 90's?

They recently had an Adult R&B hit with Babyface. Click on the pic

As far as them getting hits on the pop Top 40 today, a lot of that is hip hop (in the US). Plus a few others like Maroon 5, BTS, Billie Eilish, & Bruno Mars. I don't think Jam & Lewis' sound is relevant to current mainstream artists.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I think they may have worked with HER and they produced Mariah’s latest single, so they’re still around

Every artist has their heyday and then,as they get older, they no longer get that same type of attention. The same thing happens to music producers.Remember just a few years ago when Pharrell was the hottest producer in the music biz? hmmm

There's a story in the NY Times about them (and the new album) this morning.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

They put on the Prince Tribute that Sheila E was 'House musician' for correct?

And performed as The Time for the Minneapolis tribute they put together with The Family, Sheila E and the Revolution

Didn't Janet Jackson get back with them for her last album/tour?

You should maybe pay attention more, then. And stop trolling the Org w/ bullshit posts.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

There´s a great article written by the knowledgeable Alex Petridis on them in The Guardian. Some Prince mentions, too.
