I don't recall anyone ever saying she was smart.

The number of people defending her with "she never said it was Prince, she was just sharing a similar visual to her memory!!!" is baffling. Whether it was Sheila herself or a clueless rep managing her social media, somebody dropped the ball.

I believe they probably were. Likely in 87, but I'm not totally sure how serious he was about it. I believe Prince looked more for connection than he was worried about being married. He was a romantic. Others were opportunists.

Roy Bennett, who I'd believe 100x more than Sheila at this point, put the lemon cake quasi-fiasco to bed. It showed, yet again, how Sheila embellishes a story to favor her in Prince's story including but not limited to lemon cakes and playing the grieving widow.

Guessing her longtime assistant Ia runs her accounts but you think she would know the difference as well. I've never seen Sheila respond to a single fan reply on ANY of her socials. Seems most of her FB and Insta followers couldn't name another one of her songs other than Glamorous Life and their favorite Prince song is Purple Rain of course so I doubt anyone there even looked twice at the pic.

Well, she has, though. You have to go to Tweets and Replies on a person's Twitter profile to see a user responding to folks. She doesn't do it often. A lot of her time is taken trying to rewrite Princestory. It can take a lot out of a girl. Please, guys, give her some privacy during this very difficult time.

Sheila E. has not addressed her critics and did not comment for this story. But she apparently received a sign from the “When Doves Cry” singer on the anniversary of his death.

“April 21, and here’s a dove right here… just came to see me,” she said in a video by her pool with a dove and her dog.
“Sometimes it snows in April… Sometimes a Mourning Dove comes to visit on April 21st,” she wrote.

And this shit about she made the pancakes? Psshhtt. She made them go from a plate to her mouth, that's about it. What's next? She found him in the elevator?

I love the part, although not sure if it's true, about people around Prince being "exhausted by her antics."

I'm team Apples all the way. Previous to 2016 I just adored Sheila but she's acting so strangely.. It's like she's lost all her identity and poured herself into being a prince tribute/wife. Come on Sheila, come back from the strange side.

That's an excellent point. Because she always said she didn't set out to be a solo act or the front of a band. She just wanted to play music, and had with many people for years. When she released Sheila E., she didn't much promote it at all, instead focusing on playing in the SOTT band. Sure, there were a couple of videos, but beyond that, she pretty much let the album ride out on its own.

I believe Sheila posted the photo. There's no reason to believe everyone has an assistant running around working someone's social media without that person's input or approval. Even an assistant would know that's not Prince. I really don't know why she posted the photo or what the point was, other than I guess the guy that looked like Prince was eating pancakes. Was she saying she made the pancakes in the Charlie Murphy story, or for little man in the photo? Either way, who cares?! Oddly, the latter option feels more viable.

I will continue to say it: Prince didn't talk to her the last 5 or 6 years of his life. She boldly announced on Twitter (and yeah, I have the screen shots even though I think she may have finally deleted the tweets; I think they were from 2011) that she would no longer be performing with Prince, despite days before talking about how her performance with him was so spiritual and wonderful and rainbows and unicorns. Then when he dies, she shows up leading the pack like the grieving widow, trying to talk to the press about him, like she was in the mix. I'm frankly surprised she remembered the way to Paisley Park, since it'd been so damn long since she was invited to hang out there.

lol you're kidding right? almost all of his pre 1990 associates have been milking their association with this man and yet you're accusing Sheila with riding his coattails? come on man. Prince "fans" and their selective outrage is insane. But then again, anybody that sides with Apollonia tells me all i need to know about them

I don't really care if someone made him a cake or not. That's not the point. My point is that Sheila is continuing to show herself be a liar, whether it's about making a cake, pancakes, or acting like she had the only real connection to Prince, or was the only chick he happened to ask to marry him. Clearly, she wasn't marriage material. Two asks, and zero follow throughs.

I don't have a dog in the fight and I love Sheila E as an artist but this is certainly strange behavior on her part. Appolonia is no better. She made a strange claim that her and Prince were due to work together again before his death.

regarding sheila I agree with you but Apollonia DID visit him before he passed away and he played some songs for her. ....I vaguely remember talk about a new project and remember Apollonia was kinda in the picture again because of that meme with her and Prince on the motorcycle...I trust her more than sheila....but nobody knows fo sho whats what
