The Estate doesn't own the masters for Sheila's albums, WB does. I guess a joint release isn't unthinkable in case WB'd like to add P's original demos, though, but so far we can only wait and see.

The issue is the ownership as mentioned the estate does not have it for any of the associated artists, so that's why you are not seeing anything with these. Also the issue is say a label that does thsee low key re issues like Rock Candy that does many 80's metal bands and rock ones, also a new label I think named Solar which has been doing a bunch of new wave re issues, the problem is they need something to go off when they remaster and add mixes, most of The prince associated artists albums are long out of print so there isn't even a cd source which is what they would need to do their own remasters, getting the actual masters away from WB is costly and an obscure label doing a one off reissue is not going to pay but money for Jill Jones or Vanity master tapes.

Yes, they do. They own most albums released by Paisley Park from 1987 onwards, as well as most NPG Records releases. But not Sheila's records.

labels that do not known masters use cd sources to remaster, this is how all those rock albums get re issued, they are not using master tapes they are using cd as the source and pumping that up. This is why the fire at universal if those artists have no cd release in print to source from they are screwed, and if it's unreleased stuff that burnt up it's gone.

Finally received it today after Amazon screwed up the first shioment. It sounds good, but IMO the original sounds better, the grooves of the original pressing seem a bit wider.
