Wendy & Lisa: White Flags of Winter Chimneys... the runout

So someone on Twitter just alerted me to a little message on the runout on W&L's album, White Flags of Winter Chimneys.

I never noticed it before. I often look for stuff like that. I pulled out my copy and sure enough, there it was. A fun little message for no other reason than to put it there. A fun easter egg for fans.

It's not even listed on Discogs. (Yet?!)

Oh, and it's sorta unique for another reason other than being there.

When I ordered my vinyl copy, finally, Lisa's then-wife Renata (I believe they're no longer together, right?) put the last 8 copies a box to me. She emailed me (we had talked online before, just casually) and said, "i sent you a surprise quantity of vinyl so you can share with friends and frenemies! wink"

So I had 8 copies. Handed a few out, kept one seal and one opened for myself. I think she just wanted to get rid of the last 8 in stock, so I got 'em unexpectedly. Incredibly nice gesture.

It's really hard to make out because it's on coloured vinyl.

But, it looks like Side One says: "If I had a Hi Fi."

And Side Two says: "I'm a lasagna bang a salami."

I'm not kidding, either! lol

I can't find the "If I had a hi fi," but the second one is there.

But these two statements are peculiar for a reason. Why?

Edit: I found the "If I had a hi fi," but damn if it ain't hard AF to see on my record.

To me Wendy and Lisa had their funny ways about things in a good way ..maybe its slang maybe its a way to broden our minds...who knows ...maybe one should ask them about why it was put there and what's the meaning behind it 🤔😋☺️ and we arent getting any younger these days ..my bifocals don't help either alot of times 🤣🤣🤣

They put it there for the fans to find.

But y'all are missing the uniqueness of each statement. They're unrelated in any fashion other than this one element. I'm surprised no one's realized it yet.

This is one vinyl I am so pissed at myself for not picking up. It somehow slipped out of my radar when it came out, and by the time I realized it was out they were already gone. I love the album but only have the download...not quite as pretty as that cool-ass vinyl! NOW I hear there a cool little tidbits on the runout! Even more pissed! sad

Okay, so here's the unique thing about both of those statements:

I am a lasagna. Bang a salami.

If I had a Hi fi.

They're both palindromes. The same forward and backward.
