Favourite Protege Track?

Pick one, and only one. No procrastination or fence sitting. Has to be written by Prince. I'm going with "Shall We Dance" by Brownmark. Good luck!

Taja Seville's version of "Wouldn't You Love To Love Me". Prince's 1986 demo is now my holy grail and I hope the estate releases this version one day.

Martika's Kitchen. I can't believe that wasn't a bigger hit. It is an easy listen, a nice hook and great production.

Very good choice. Underrated song. "Get some get some, at Martika's kitchen, if you're good i'll even let you break the dishes.

My pick would be "A Love Bizarre" Sheila E.

"Manic Monday" (Bangles)

"Stand Back" (Stevie)

"I Feel For You" (Chaka's version)

"Sugar Walls" (Sheena)

"Dance Electric" (André)

-

And I don't know if thsi fits in the question,

but the whole "Hey Man, Smell My Finger" album by Georg Clinton.

What a bomb of an album that (still) is.

iirc, Prince had a hand in that, right ?

Like an unreleased NPG album.

Ditto. Except didn’t they write it together or she actually wrote it first then he changed the lyrics?
