McGoo"s Music: THE -RE-SET

Prince selected young McGoo for a gig…that would last seven (7) years. He worked every tour, rehearsal, and private Prince event from 1991 to 1998 and was even asked to be a part of the original NPG Band as a percussionist, seasoning him for a lifetime of great work.

Take a minute and Google “Poor Goo.”

Based on McGoo's work experience, Beyoncé rarely does live performances without him. Since 2002, humbled but not taking one moment for granted, McGoo operates as if it is his first day on the job, and he continues to maintain the helm of production and as the Backline Crew Chief throughout all of Beyoncé's and Destiny's Child most iconic work.

McGoo's client list includes but is not limited to:

Lizzo | Ciara | Mariah Carey | Maxwell | Tyler Perry | Ricky Martin | Beyoncé |

Jay Z | Gloria Estefan | D'Angelo | David Sandborn | Black Street | Orianna

Collins Little Dreams Foundation | Boys 2 Men | Janet Jackson | Blink 182 | Primus | Destiny's Child | Pitbull | RTF | Stanley Clarke | Kelly Rowland | Blue Man Group | Toad the Wet Sprocket | Berry White

Recognized as a leading Minneapolis-area musician and music producer, McGoo has joined forces with many world-renowned and up-and-coming local artists to assist with their music production efforts. Currently, he produces music for a diverse array of artists. McGoo prides himself on his long-lasting professional relationships and has recently partnered with a new music distribution and music library company.

The Re-Set Ep

The Re-Set is an eclectic mix of what he calls “soul food.” The five-song EP is, indeed, a jambalaya of Soul, R&B, Funk, and Pop with a dash of Alternative and throwback rhythms reminiscent of the best of the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s.

McGregor’s harmonized vocals explore various themes: gratitude and self-actualization on “C ur Self”; courage and honesty on “Talk 2 Me”; and bold belief on “Faith.” Not only is he a formidable lyricist (“If I drive you to the moon, will your faith pay for the gas?”), but the two funky instrumentals “98” and “Kali” also take the listener on a ride, reminding that he is a venerable beat maker. As a bonus, McGoo displays his acting chops and creative sense of character development with a visual/video accompanying each track on which he sings.

After taking a short break from touring, McGoo has returned to recording and producing music and is more committed than ever. This body of work reflects a new turn in his career as a progressive Music Producer | Composer | Writer | Arranger & Performer.

McGoo is one of the most underrated Prince associates. A friend of mine is friends with him and has a very high opinion of him. Last time I saw McGoo was in 1994 and 95. I knew of his background work but never knew that he actually makes music and sings, so thanks for the info and thread. wink

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
