Jellybean Johnson :Get Experienced 11/20/2020

FYI in case no one is aware. Jellybean Johnson (drummer of The Time, Orginal 7ven, Morris Day and The Time) is FINALLY releasing his first solo album titled Jellybean Johnson:Get Experienced.

This album contains an awesome arrangement done by him and NPG's Chance Howard of Lattimore's song Let's Straighten It out.

Jellybean played guitar on all tracks. Ashley Tamar Davis and Lawerence L.A.W Worrel of Law and Planet12 Movement lent their lead vocals on several of the tracks. So did Minneapolis' Tracey Blake and rap/hip hop husband/wife duo from Minneapolis Illism. Mint Condition's original manager James Popeye Greer is on this album as a writer, composer and singer. Michael Bland of the NPG is on drums with this album. Tony M and Law team up with Jellybean and Monte Moir lends his keys and synth to the song She Can Get It that is featured on this album but also is currently sold as single in digital outlets right now.

I attended the CD Release Party for this album this weekend. DJ Nevermind would play 3 tracks each before the band would come on jam. The first band was made up of Jellybean on guitar, Bobby Vandell formerly of Jesse Johnson Revue on drums, Terry Jackson former of Grand Central, L.A.W., Paul Peterson on lead vocals and Minneapolis' Pierre Lewis. They performed High Fashion and Mutiny.

DJ Nevermind then played 3 more track and the band switched up with Jellybean on guitar, Eric Exl Johnson drums, Terry on percussion, Bobby Vandell took the lead vocals and L.A.W. was on guitar and they performed Voodoo Child and Hendrix's Butterfles and Zebras. More tracks were played. NPG's Damon Dickson attended they party but did not wish to be on stage. The night ended with Jellybean on guitar, Vandell on drums, Law on lead and all the night's band members going on stage sans Paul Peterson who left shortly after the first set was done. They performed Prince's America in celebration of Biden/Harris election win and they also did Get Off. Overall it was as really party and the album is great. I got the full album at the end of the night that they were selling at the party. You can pre-order at the link before. They have cassettes available to order as well! But the catch is that the company that does the viynl (spelling may be off) also will ONLY print cassettes if there are enough orders of a viynl and cassette combo. This is only $35 dollars. You can pre-order on real music radio at the link below...
