Jill Jones & The Revolution So after Prince died, Jill started making big moves about how The Revolution was a karaoke band, totally discredited their contributions, and eluded to general anomosity. I took it as there was tension between Susannah (having Prince has a boyfriend) and Jill (because she did whatever with him), and maybe W&L&S ganged up on JJ to protect their own (Susannah) and put JJ in a weird position; like she felt jilted or otherwise cast out by these newcomers. She always seemed to have something negative to say about any of them. She didn't even show up at the First Avenue concert w/ the band, and likely had some shit to say then, too. My guess is that Jill had quite a bit of pent-up anger/resentment from that time period. Her album was delayed for several years, Susannah was front and center with Prince during and after the PR tour, and she was moved to an apartment in NYC in '86. Jill also did not have great things to say about her time with Prince during an interview in 2013, so she had some anger there too. * Susannah, during her first long interview with Toure, when explaining how Prince was frequently staying at her LA house in early/mid 1983, stated "it caused some raucous - there was a girl he was seeing, who probably still hates me to this day, but I had no idea - if you're listening, I had no idea..". Jill also made derogatory comments about Wendy & Susannah during her long interview with Prince Podcast, stating, "the plantation mistresses came in and took over....". So, she was on a stretch of "vents" shortly after Prince passed. * Based on the recent Zoom video it seems that she/they have made amends - at least her and The Revolution - not sure if she and Susannah will ever fully reconcile. Very hard to be friends with the person who took your lover's attention away from you

I've read things in the last years time, Jill was commenting on Susannah's post, about the image on the ATWIAD cover, where Susannah thought it might be Jill Jones and Jill responded kindly to her but indicated the model was not her.
I suspect things might have been hashed out overall.

Possibly, but I got the impression her anger toward the Revolution was based on the period when Wendy - and soon after Susannah - joined the camp. She talked at length about how there was a good vibe and everyone got along until the band member changes and the "plantation mistresses" came in and influenced Prince to move away from the original group dynamic - which of course we know was just Prince shifting his attention and moving forward, as he always did during his career. Her comments indicated that she blamed W & S for those changes, but it was all shifting as soon as Dez and Vanity left the camp. The changes were inevitable, and he was moving on from PR long before the tour had ended. * There actually was an image online of a girl with short blonde hair (like Jill's at that time) in the same outfit and pose as the picture used for the ATWIAD cover. I swear I saw it online, but now I cannot find it. It's possible that Jill also posed for that shot and does not remember. Not sure. I found her comment on Susannah's post to be a bit sarcastic - using the "LOL" bit as if saying, oh how ridiculous you are to think that this was me. I actually initially thought it was Wendy as Susannah did before she said it might be Jill. Susanna graciously apologized to her on that post.

Yes, I remember that, but ultimately it's about her and Prince's choice. Prior to 2016 I never read anything directed against them, but a lot directed at Prince. I even remember prior to 2016 Jill saying she would love to do some music with Lisa and on W&L page replying to someone with Jill Jones is not wasted talent and she is still putting out music.
I think when Jill realized/realizes that Prince would never have given her the happeniess she desired and that she is married still to a man who chose her and only her. It falls into perspect. . The image of the woman posing for the artist was his friend. I actually asked him. Jill said she didn't pose for it, but that Prince told her the character(crying) was her. She was like 'why am I the one always crying lol'

Interesting views. Terms like "plantation mistresses" is language charged to incite.
But you know the common denominator in all that? PRINCE! Putcha dick away, son. It's causing too many problems. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Jill seems very conflicted about Prince. He seems to have had a profound impact on her that she does not seem to have been able to shake. She is my favorite, though. Something about her rings true. I also enjoy Lisa and she seems healthily 'removed.'

Haha isn't it true. Most of the time, the women don't even know, but they will half kill each other over a man. . Jill cannot be too upset, Susan Moonsie was first, then Jill, then Vanity. Or was it Kim Upsher etc Jill said she put on some jeans after being with Prince and ran into Kim who said those were her jeans. And Vanity was not happy with it, it wasn't some happy hippie circle of love. Sheila said she saw all the women and removed herself from it, but she was back in forth. And I can understand. Once Susannah left Sheila thought she had Prince all to herself locked on them drums. And even though Cat said there was nothing sexual between her and Prince, she did say Sheila was jealous and would treat her cold at times. Sheila used to be on the main floor with Prince (when she had her own band) but now she is watching Prince & Cat romp all over the stage and bump and hump. lol . This with Prince and Jill really fell of as she was living in Europe and she started doing her own thing away from Prince. But she was stuck on his energy. She called it sociopathic in an interview. Which I think he was operating on those wave lengths to a lesser degree. . . That original polaroid that we thought was Wendy was the artists friend Julia.

In Prince's memoir he seemed so grateful to receive a kiss when he was 17. Fast forward 3 years and women were everywhere.

OF4S - Love the album art pics! They've been circulating onine for awhile now too. * I'm pretty sure the Clara Bow figure on the ITWIAD cover is supposed to represent Wendy though. Prince sang about it in Condition of the Heart, and Wendy has mentioned that he told her that her facial expressions reminded him of Clara Bow - which is pretty cool that he knew who Clara was back then He loved watching old movies, so that makes sense. He also had Wendy in the same outfit as Clara Bow for the Raspberry Beret video. * Susannah said she knows the story of why Sheila's figure was changed to have a mustache, but she said it's not really that interesting. Would love to know that information!! * * Love this cover though. Definitely one of my favorites!!

[Edited 11/8/20 0:29am] I don't have much to say since I took to most of what transpired like a reality tv show. Both sides are generational in the business which there very well could be elements going on the fans have no clue about. Being that pissed off over boyfriend issues for 35+ years seem trivial no pun intended. Personally I always took it as putting on a show until the money part got squared away, And it appears it has been. Time keeps on slipping into the future...
This moment is all there is...

It is hard for me to imagine still having feelings (conflicted) for a long-ago lover, but I guess it's hard to get closure when the guy is brought up all the time (at least in her circle). Proximity to fame can inflame. She was likely done wrong by Prince on some deep levels... I've always thought that. (The others are just annoyances) [Edited 11/9/20 21:52pm]

Oh ok, I have a few PR shows where he called her Clara Bow to give him some guitar licks
Yeah that line in Condition of the Heart is a play on Wendy & Susannah's twinning
lol I always thought they looked like Jesse Johnson in the robes, and then in maybe morphed into the robed Madhouse band
a lot of robes were worn between 1984-1987 lol

Wendy has always made funny expressions with her face and mouth. You can see it in the Kiss video too - when she makes the funny smirk expression when Prince is dancing up to her. * In the song Condition of the Heart, which is believed to be about Susannah, he sings: * There was a woman from the ghetto * It is believed that he is referring to Wendy as Clara Bow and her twin Susannah in those lyrics. * We know that some of the characters on the ATWIAD cover are just there to represent some of the songs (woman w/ the raspberry beret, girl on the seesaw, American flag, etc), but I think others represent some of the people close to Prince, and the band members at that time. The girl playing the violin w/ ballet slippers is obviously Susannah, as we've seen the real picture, and Sheila's actual picture too = minus the mustache which was added. The artist, Doug Henders, posed for the figure in the cloud suit, however, Prince wore that suit in the Raspberry Beret video, and he had also briefly dyed his hair blonde during that time, so I do think that figure is meant to be Prince. Jill may not have posed for the picture of the girl crying, because I think she was already in NYC by that point. She would not have been in LA at that time. However, I do think that figure would represent her, as Prince always portrayed her that way. Even in the GB film she was the disgruntled girlfriend who left because she was not getting the love or attention from Prince.

Susannah looked pissed being on that call. She did come in late so maybe was surprised to see Jill. Morris Hayes hogged most of the convo and Lisa just laid in her bed. Jill did make a crack about “moving into a fan’s home” cause covid has caused lack of $$$ coming in and they all admitted wanting to perform again.
