Prince herpes -Chaka

ALL references to herpes and Prince come from Chaka. As for the drug he was taking, it's used for cold sores, shingles (an outgrowth of chicken pox), etc.

I always felt the Valtrex was for herpes 2 as Kirk referred to a rash (cold sores are individual sores

around the mouth/lips.)

Wow, Shingles is next level. Usually found in those 50 and over and those with immuno-supression.

regardless as to whether any of this is true, I had originally started listening to this interview but clicked off because Chaka sounded high as fuck. I felt bad for her.

I missed the whe whole herepes part and didn't know about it until excerpts started showing up on social media.

I dare anyone to listen to listen to this interview and not think Chakas was high off her ass.

.

Having said all that, I would not doubt that a musician who was constantly on the road had herpes.

Prince passed in 2016, so Usher's 2017 issues aren't really relevant. Agree, no woman sued Prince over herpes.

the main dealbreaker for Chaka seems to be his height! as for the Herpes comment, it sounds like Chaka believes what she read somewhere.Prince was flat out DEFAMED after his death because people could lie about him without consequences. I remeber a whole smack of crazy stories, many of which were debunked completely (that P had HIV etc). Some crazy stuff even came from "music industry insiders" who should know better.

Unfortunately, some people accepted those stories uncritically. Maybe its an American thing, we Aussies have had Rupert Murdoch a lot longer, so now when we read something we assume its bulls#@t razz

It’s ok though, because all in all no matter what’s been said, Prince is VERY loved.

Ok I read page 1 and made it to page 2 haven't read page 3 yet but I just have to write (without reading the other source or link to whatever article came first) why would anyone presume it was about herpes? Lesson in phonetics and journalistic influence and misinformation, what if the truth is he gave her peace? Or her piece. of what, who knows, but is it better to imagine, that point of view than the notion anyone's sexual history should be public unless they'd be fine with it, why wouldn't they be? We never had any problem writing about sex and maybe the whole get papers on someone isn't all that far fetched in a sex education context. This goes for any artist!
Why do people get to write so much about someone when they're gone?

Admittedly this was a rambling and I like to jump in on these threads and now to be more clear and honest, I don't think it's necessary to anymore. I'm recognizing my own place as a blip on the internet and I know I could contribute to a written discussion on any forum and I probably should get my own by now. I just started to see a bigger picture and I don't know what to do with it.

I also honestly get offended when people assume whether someone is high or not. People can be anything they want and if you don't know someone intimately how can you tell if they are high or not even in an audio file omg please don't get me started. Chaka didn't sound erratic at all to me in that interview. shrug

I love Luenell. She doesn't give a fuck about being proper. She's gon' be herself. I've talked to her before and she's actually a down to earth sweetheart. It's fun to see her and Chaka just have girl talk about whatever, including Prince.

I don't know that any of us assumed Prince shagged Chaka. They were peers, and that mutual brother/sister respect was always evident. Cat says he didn't fuck her either. He didn't fuck Gayle, Lisa, Wendy, Boni, Rosie, Rhonda, Kat, Cassandra... and not Chaka. I actually can't even imagine them two together like that.

I know we're all grown here, or maybe not, but for those of us like myself, who don't like foul language, could you at least be considerate, and perhaps say that Prince didn't have sex with the women you named, instead? I sure that we would still understand what you're saying, without the vulgar language. Thanks. smile

THIS^. I've always loved Chaka. Still do. She's a legend. However its hardly news that she dips in and out of sobriety. Don't blame her at all for self-medicating during this shit-show of a year. Slandering a deceased friend, one who kept her employed for several years, is another thing altogether. Tacky.

Valtrex, Zovirax, acyclovir can all be used for simplex 1, 2 or zoster (which is the herpes virus that causes chicken pox and shingles). I have an open prescription for acyclovir for cold sores, which are extremely painful - not to mention unsightly.

I don't need it very often, but I keep the prescription open because I will almost always get a cold sore if I have a fever (which is why they're also called "fever blisters") and because, if I get one, it seems like they always start on Friday at 5:00 p.m. - when I might not be able to get to a doctor.

Time is really of the essence when treating any kind of herpes outbreak. If you start treating at the first itch or tingle (called a prodrome), you can sometimes head it off.

When Kirk states "rash" it rules out cold sores. There are only 1-3 of those at one time.

Yes, all are caused by the herpes virus.

Shinges is caused by Herpes Zoster, Oral cold sores are caused by Herpes Simplex 1 and genital

herpes are caused by Herpes Simplex 2

This is extremely misleading. You can get herpes 1 on your genitals and herpes 2 on your lips. The only way to tell the difference is to have the sores cultured.

Herpes simplex and shingles can, in fact, look like a rash. In fact, shingles definitely does.

For an RN, you aren't very well-versed in this.

WEB MD:

Herpes simplex viruses -- more commonly known as herpes -- are categorized into two types: herpes type 1 (HSV-1, or oral herpes) and herpes type 2 (HSV-2, or genital herpes). Most commonly, herpes type 1 causes sores around the mouth and lips (sometimes called fever blisters or cold sores). HSV-1 can cause genital herpes, but most cases of genital herpes are caused by herpes type 2. In HSV-2, the infected person may have sores around the genitals or rectum. Although HSV-2 sores may occur in other locations, these sores usually are found below the waist.

Shinges starts out as painful pustules on one side of the body. Overtime, the pustules dry.

Honey, please read that yourself. You made a blanket statement that herpes 1 is oral and herpes 2 is genital. I said either can occur either place, and you posted something that confirms what I said.

What do you think a group of pustules is? Let me help you - it's more commonly referred to as a rash.
