Interesting how this whole 'Lemon Cake War' has brought up so many questions and gotten tongues wagging. From Appolonia publicly outing Sheila E., to all of the other associated artists and protegés who felt the need to chime in on who the actual architect of this confectionary fetish that Prince had meanwhile revealing things about themselves along the way. And then there's good ol' Cat Glover who can always be counted on to tell just a little too much. And let me tell you, I'm here for it. Luvsit!

So let me begin with the fact that me, being a life-long fan of Prince and anything related, from the moment I saw Nicole Ritchie I thought Sheila E. Not sure what it was, but I immediately recognized the Escovedo family connection. Later when it was finally 'revealed'that she is the daughter of Sheila's brother and Lionel just so happened to meet her running wild backstage at a Purple Rain concert and fell in love, something for me just didn't sit right. We all know that Sheila was in The Running With The Night video back in the day just as we all know that Lionel was a notorious cheater which actually got dragged into the headlines when his wife Brenda was accused of domestic abuse after physically assaulting Lionel in light of his constant infidelities. Is it possible that he was cheating with Sheila around the time if filming RWTN and that Nicole Ritchie is actually their lovechild?
As far as Cat Glover goes, in a recent podcast where she was the guest Cat revealed the source of the ongoing animosity she has had with Sheila E. As Cat patted herself on the back for although never having been chummy with Sheila, never having revealed any of her 'secrets' either. But then, as Cat gave her account of one of the alleged nasty things Sheila did to her while on either the SOTT OR Lovsexy tour, she also gave us a little gem that I didn't expect. When describing Sheila's affront against her while on tour, Cat Glover named Sheila E's accomplice as being Lynn Whitfield who Cat described as Sheila's "whatever". In light of all the other things being said right now...we can all easily surmise as to just exactly what "her whatever" really means. Me catching that little subliminal and with the power of Google behind me I decided to look for a connection between Sheila E and Lynn Whitfield...because, nah, surely Cat Glover didn't mean THAT Lynn Whitfield. However sure enough, there right in front of my eyes was a young pre Josephine Baker and Women Of Brewster's Place Lynn Whitfield dancing it up in....wait for it....Running With The Night!!

Could all this be a sign that the Running With The Night video is the missing link and holds all the answers to the questions in the Universe that have plaqued man? I for one am definitely leaning toward this conclusion
