Jill Jones - Violet Blue I think we all can agree that her album is one of the best "protege" albums and wish it did better commercially. Bad timing and no marketing put this one to bed before it had a chance.
However I just wanted to call out this gem of a song. Lyrics, voice, music, and sensuousness...its a slice of perfect purple pop imo. It doesn't age.
Anyone agree? Or something else from this album? | |

There was too much going on in 84-85 for him to even focus on it or for her to have a place, with the Time and Apollonia 6 plus Shelia E, it was too much plus She wasn't doing music in Purple Rain had she been a focus or had her own group in that movie then I think you could make the case for a release then but in all the traffic of that releasing it in 84-85 would have gotten it lost quicker.
