PEACH & BLACK PODCAST: Interview with Tamar (and Lake Minnetonka)

The Peach and Black Podcast caught up with Ashley Tamar Davis after her recent Australian tour and talked about the early years, her time with Prince and upcoming projects. We also talked to Adam Rudegeair from Lake Minnetonka about his band, working with Tamar and MPLS icons like Dr Fink, Sonny T, and Eric Leeds. Enjoy!

Beware of her 'revelations'. 3121 was recorded in late 2004 and Tamar wasn't around. Listen to the Questlove Supreme podcast with Duane Tudahl and Ruth Azarte for the low-down on that song.

Then she claims he didn't know what he was doing? Bull crap. He never not knew. She comes along later with her revisionist history.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

Yes, I listened to Questlove's show with Duane and Ruth - great episode. The story of 3121 was so funny and so "Prince"!! People were reading so much into that song, and as it turns out, it was strictly based on a house number which also happened to add up to his favorite number biggrin

.....and he recorded the basic tracking before RA even had a chance to talk to anyone about renting the home. "No pressure."

Her stories were hilarious. From the 3121 bit to Glass Cutter, to her picking him up in her used car with torn seats biggrin Prince: “do you think anyone would believe it’s me riding in this car??” lol
