She mocked him and tried to sell his personal items prior to his death. She had her book ready so it would be the first released after his death. Around that time she also jacked up the prices for her belly dancing classes and was selling Symbol merch at those classes, as well as, playing Prince's songs to teach the classes - Computer Blue for belly dancing??? Someone secretly recorded the shenanigans on their cell. She also just made a shitload of $$ after auctioning a bunch of Prince's stuff - mostly his clothes. * So, per the above list, I think yes, she is absolutely going in the "profit off of Prince" direction.

Even when he was alive, I didn't get the feeling that she was mocking him. She never really let go of him and had many items long after they went their seperate ways.

I guess you missed the pic she posted of her wearing his symbol undies with the caption “ how many women can wear their ex’s underwear?”, her post of side-by-side pics of Prince and Nicole Murphy (Hollywood Ex’s) in very similar red outfits to imply that Prince looked like a woman, her tantrum post about not getting free tickets to his concert, etc. Several digs toward Prince in the 2000’s.
*
I don’t think she wasn’t “over” him, because there were reports by people in the camp that they were having problems long before he decided to divorce her. I think it was spite and a bruised ego more than anything which is very understandable. Sucks to have your personal life played out in public. However, some of her behavior was quite immature. The Hollywood Ex’s stint was a poor choice, but I’m sure she probably needed the money.

What digs in the 2000s? Are you confusing Mayte with his second wife who called him a homophobe and compared him to Charlie Sheen?

I see nothing wrong with her attempt at being funny by posting pics of her wearing his underwear.

It's not like their love was in full bloom up until the time he passed away. He moved on from her a long time ago but she refuses to move on and is still trying to hang on to the glory days of their relationship. That's too bad, she was stunted and cannot move on and each time she does anything related to Prince she relives the glory days in her mind. He himself called her a trophy wife in Way Back Home. It's unfortunate but he used her, a young child, that wasn't good for her mental health. So, maybe because he messed her up, she's entitled to use him. Not saying that her intentions are good though, just that she's entitled to this since he pimped her to promote himself.

I have to agree with most of your thoughts...

I used to be sympathetic 3+ years ago, but she appears to be unable/unwiliing to forge a life that is independent of Prince. I was supportive of her desire to write a book, but she is still

'hanging on' which seems odd.

IMO, she was too young for that whole experience, and he was not fair with her financially/emotionally during their divorce, so...maybe holding on is a way of getting what she feels she deserves or perhaps she is somewhat stuck emotionally.

You're high as hell if you think you know who he is referring to in Way Back Home. Why even make that assumption? This person lived a life for ten years that you could never dream of. Why do you feel the need to try to shit on that? It's weird and creepy.

I can heartily assure you that very few of Prince's fans found that funny at all and definitely took offense to her poor behavior. Tacky and classless for sure, as her other antics also were. It's really a surprise that people who saw all of that can still lie to themselves about what was clear as day and continue making excuses for what that person has shown herself to be.

Oops, my bad! Then the only other trophy wife would be Manuela. There's only 2 choices. I know he wasn't married to Susannah.

I don’t know anyone that gave a damn about her trying on his underwear. It was a joke. She got a good laugh and so did a lot of other people at the time. I was one of them. You think it was blasphemy. Idol worship much? Grow up. If she wanted to be dirty, she could have done much worse. My best friend bleached every piece of clothing her cheating hubby had in his big walk-in closet. That’s disrespectful. The ish you’re talking about isn’t anything to get upset about unless you’re just looking for something.

lol lol Well, you'd certainly be one to know about idol worship given your continuing stan posts about this one, as your history shows. I'm gonna say that those who "got a good laugh" aren't fans of Prince at all and that includes her. That so-called "joke" was intended to be hurtful and demeaning. And as to any restraint she has ever exhibited: it is only because ole girl knows she's got to toe the line if she wants to continue with the minimal attention she gets these days from stans and confused Prince fans. But it does look like those days are coming to an end given the dwindling interest in her antics. Oh, not only do I suggest you grow up yourself, but wake the hell up too. Or not, I personally couldn't care less what you do.

I am going to go out on a limb here, and say - with 100% confidence - that there would have been at least one person NOT laughing at her antics. That person would have been Prince. She was saying and doing these things a decade after their split. Just not necessary and quite immature. It was attention-seeking and using Prince to get that attention.
*
I do feel for her, in that she was completely controlled by Prince and his insulated world from ages 17-26. No higher education or even further dance training. He then reduced her role to being the “dancing foil” behind him on stage - as Alan Light described her in his 1994 article. So, she did not have much of a chance to become much more than a member of the Hollywood Ex’s group after the divorce.

If Prince was in fact using first person and talking about himself in Way Back Home - which he most likely was - as most of his songs were describing his life and feelings - then the “trophy wife” lyric would have been referring to BOTH of his wives. If you consider the definition of trophy wife they both fit that category - much younger, attractive, and not much in common with him in terms of history and experience in life which comes with age.
*
I believe he is saying that he was born different and never meant to follow any type of life - even the life of a typical celebrity. He was never meant to follow any structured plan. He’s saying he’ll never be completely happy here because he’s trying to get back to God/Heaven.

She had nothing BUT good intentions and 95% of those after the fact have done just the same. Whether Prince knew he was not long for this earth, people close to him meaning from early days or later days, mainly people that were not in that circle the last few years, they did not expect PRINCE to die, they just did NOT. So this all has been tough weird frustrating and sad most of time, but as Morris Day said recently, "I struggled early on but I am getting passed it" and that is it in a nutshell. Morris also recently said in Bilboard he was not cool with the releases and what was coming out after the fact and that Prince would not like that. But he has to remember that Prince also would not be cool with Books written about him, bands touring playing his music, merchandise with his name on it, everyone posting photos unseen of him, videos all over youtube etc...So you cant cherry pick what you want

Disrespecting and mocking someone when they are alive, and then doing a 180 turn immediately after they pass in order to gain attention and the media spotlight does not mesh with having good intentions. Other than a brief encounter when she attended one of his concerts during his Vegas run, she had no contact with him from the time of their split. She was trying to profit off of him prior to his death as well by selling some of his personal items.

Prince was reaching out to many who had been close to him through the years just before he passed. I think the fact that he did not contact Mayte at all in the few years, or even the year before he passed is quite telling.

He spent time with Susan Moonsie and Brenda during his Musicology tour. Susan lives in Trinidad. I don’t think he and Rosie were on good terms - I could be wrong but I thought there was a conflict with the album she was supposed to release under the PP label. Manueka was also not saying the most flattering things prior to his death and their divorce was not amicable, so it’s understandable that he would not have reached out to her.
*
He did reach out to Susannah twice before he died. The first time in 2015, through his Manager to offer her a loan to help her financially. The second time in 2016, after his emergency landing in Moline. Susannah called his Engineer to check on his health, and the Engineer told her that Prince wanted to record with her again. He sent her lyrics he had recently written. I hope she writes her story and includes them, or posts them some day. They are most likely some of the last lyrics he wrote.
*
I think he re-connected with the people that he most wanted to see and talk to before he passed.

Manueka was also not saying the most flattering things prior to his death and their divorce was not amicable, so it’s understandable that he would not have reached out to her. * He did reach out to Susannah twice before he died. * I think he re-connected with the people that he most wanted to see and talk to before he passed. [Edited 11/1/19 13:28pm]

.......He personally did not reach out to Susannah, he did NOT personally talk to Susannah.

I did not hear where P's manager (which would be who?) reached out to her to offer her money.

He did loan her money and have her sign an IOU, though and as of the time he passed, she still had not paid it. I don't know if she has even paid it, as of now.

See you are confusing P reaching out personally to Susannah, as he did NOT. Also lot's of peeps tried calling P after Moline, not very many got thru. BUT he was talking to the ones he wanted to. For example he actually spoke to Dan P about the book.

Well, he started from the beginning. He also didn't reach out to Rosie Gaines, Robin Power, Carmen Electra, Cat Glover, Miko Weaver, and a host of other people. He didn't reach out to Susannah or Susan Moonsie, Anna Fantastic, or Mani.

I did NOT state that he personally reached out to Susannah regarding the loan to help her financially. However, He called Wendy to get Susannah’s number (per Wendy’s statement), and he had his Manager contact Susannah to discuss the loan - per Susannah’s statement. Who else would have contacted Susannah? Prince had his Managers take care of things for him since day one. It was 2015, so whomever it was at that time would have called her, and they would have been given her number by Prince, as no one else in the camp would have had her number. None of this would have occurred without Prince’s direction and approval.
*
AGAIN, what I have posted above and prior is that - per Susannah’s statements, after the news broke of the emergency landing, Susannah first called Apollonia to see if she had connected with anyone at PP. Apples told her she thought he was okay. Susannah then called and spoke to Prince’s Engineer who said, “he’s doing okay. He wants to write with you again. He’a going to send you some lyrics. It’s not necessarily what he wants to record, but it’s just to get something started.” This was one week before he died.
*
Prince’s Engineer would have been instructed by Prince to give Susannah that information and to send her his lyrics. As we all know, he regularly had his staff making calls for him. All the time. So, Prince absolutely was reaching out to her - unless you are stating that Susannah is completely lying??
*
And of course Prince spoke to Dan??! He had hired him to help write his Auto Biography. It was a business collaboration. Even Dan was often contacted by Kirk or Meran to relay messages from Prince. Nothing different with anyone. I would say Prince relaying to Susannah - directly or via his Engineer - that he wanted to record with her again, AND sending her new lyrics was HUGE. Susannah May very well be in possession of the last lyrics written by him.

It was a pretense, to make it seem as if everything was okay and that life was moving on as usual and that 'Nothing dire had happened'. Like brushing it off... Posting on Twitter and IG as per usual. But of course how was he to know that one week later...

What?? No way. All he had to do was to have his Engineer tell her he was fine. Prince going through the effort to send her his own lyrics and having his Engineer set up a plan to record with her again was in no way a pretense. Prince would have NEVER gone to that extent unless it’s what he wanted to do. Susannah was not talking to the press then, so no need for any pretense with her.
*
Susannah received the lyrics, so clearly Prince wanted her to have them, and sent them quickly to her.

But again, Susannah actually RECEIVED the lyrics from him. So, no “playing it off” there. If he did not want to see/talk to her again he would never have initiated it or gone to the trouble of sending her the lyrics. No way.

* Prince was reaching out to many who had been close to him through the years just before he passed. I think the fact that he did not contact Mayte at all in the few years, or even the year before he passed is quite telling.

nod Exactly right, all of this.

Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end nod

Not gonna lie. Thought the same thing. She called him to see if he was okay and he told the engineer what he needed to blow off the scent. It's not like he was the one that reached out to her about it. 'I'm so good that I'm even sending lyrics so I could write with you again...' Just like He was throwing dance parties and showing off his purple guitar and purple piano the day after his plane went down, to prove to the world 'he was okay..' This too.. Prince was reaching out to a lot of people saying he wanted to work with them again. Even If it was an honest intention and he truly did actually wanna work with her again and sent lyrics for her to work on, so what? He actually did work with some of his past associates. Like Morris Day. Hell, even Apollonia have a story about Prince saying he wanted to work with her again.... lol What makes sending Susannah a song to work on so special? It's not like she was the only one that he had it in mind to work with.
