Sometimes you just have a good day. Was going through some vinyl at a flea market this morning, and wasn't having much luck finding anything good. I just happened to glance over there at a huge box of cassettes and thought, "I probably don't even have anything left to play those on." But, at a quarter a piece, I thought what the heck.

Found a brand new copy of this tape. I had never heard it before, so that is great. Although Prince only is given credit for the Love Sign song with Nona Gaye, it is still a good tape. I drove home, dug in my storage shed, and came up with an old boom box that plays tapes!!!!!

It's mostly a good compilation of songs. The weakest, in my opinion, are "Color", "2Gether". I never liked the Tony M. NPG stuff. "Color" just isn't up to snuff. "You Will Be Moved" is fine, but another respresentative song from her album could have been included.

The stand outs are Cox, MPLS, Gaye, Clinton. The others are fine, I ain't mad at 'em. Too bad virtually none of thees records came out aside from Mavis and Mayte. MPLS could have been as vicious as the NPG during those days.

It's such a fun note that St. Paul played bass on "Love Sign", too. Few know he was around 1990-1994 as a session player. (He and his pal Oliver Lieber are all over Paula Abdul's Forever Your Girl, too.)

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.
