Koo Koo by Sheila E. (Extended)

My dance teacher used to play this for our lessons back in the late eighties. I had forgotton how good it was... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyGUkKVoUxE

Come see Koo Koo man
Doing very worst he can
See him spend his lonely dime
Things design the Koo Koo time

Koo Koo, Koo Koo

Koo Koo, Koo Koo

Everybody, come see Koo Koo girl

She can't resist the Koo Koo world
2 young 2 know better, 2 old 2 refuse
First she had an abortion, now she's got the blues (She got the blues)

Yes

Come and dig the Koo Koo war

Rumor has, it got started cuz our leaders got bored
New toys with a laser teach children 2 kill
Who knows when they're older, maybe they will
Nothing gained, paradise lost
Koo Koo's the trip and death is the cost

It's your world... 4 a little while
Peace, mother, brother, peace of mind
We got 2 love one another all the time
Cuz a kiss on the lips is better than a knife in the back
Can U get 2 that or is your blue train runnin' on a Koo Koo track?
U're 2 laxed, 2 lazy 2 dig all the facts
What it is y'all? We need a new plan, new plan of attack
Everybody jam, we've got the knack
Let's party y'all, let's party y'all
Cuz a kiss on the lips is better than a knife in the back

Now everybody say it
Koo Koo, Koo Koo
Koo Koo
It's your world (Your world)
4 a little while

Sheila's self-titled third album is her best work, imo.I just hate the fact that it didn't get the full attention and promotion that it deserved confused "Koo Koo" is a nice track.

Yes, she did Noon Rendezous also. She's supposed to come back to First Avenue again this year on her birthday. I've seen her several times the last few years. I wish she would do Sister Fate, Dear Michaelangelo, Koo Koo, and I could go on and on. lol

She does more of other people songs than she does hers. Sheila I'm just realizing how gifted and talented she really is & why here & Prince(r.i.p.) were musical soulmates. The way she controls her band with the background singers including Lynn Mabry(with her baritone voice) and the musical arrangements she puts together, even the ones she mimics from Prince's(r.i.p.) songs are simply AMAZING & spot on. Plus she's a good dancer & moves pretty good for a woman in her 60's. Plus she's not a bad singer.

NOW since i've forgiven her. I can now give her the triple threat title. That I rarely give any artist.

Prince wrote Noon Rendevouz, so probably not about himself.

Yep, Lionel Richie allegedly 'discovered' 2-year-old Nicole Camille Escovedo (her birth name) playing the tambourine onstage with Prince during a Purple Rain concert... And since her parents were not able to care for her, Lionel and his wife Brenda decided to foster her, then officially adopting her when she was 9. But I fear we've gone out of topic a little!
